SOURCE: HP DV2910us -where to order cpu cooling fan for

Best place to look is ebay. Look it up as a DV2000, as far as I know all the dv2000 series use the same cpu cooling fan. Otherwise, if you have the laptop apart, use the serial number or m/n on the part to look it up on ebay. I do this daily at my computer repair store and have lots of luck with hp laptop fans.

I have a gateway one zx6900 cooling fans make a lot of noise. How do i fix this?

Replace the FAN. You cannot FIX these. REASON> The fan motor generally turns on a ball bearing or oil impregnated sleeve. These tend to dry or wear down from use or age.
They are low cost devices and replacement is the only way to go.

I have an old gateway 7023ge computer and i wanted to find out the size of my cooling fans so i can replace them. i have 2 fans one front and one rear. they are both the same size.

Computer case fans for older computers were usually standard sizes of 80 millimeter or 92mm, maybe120mm. 25.4mm = 1 inch, so an 80mm fan is about 3 inches. Measure the diameter of the fan from the tip of one fan blade to the tip of the opposite fan blade. A 92mm fan is about 3 1/2 inches in diameter and a 120mm fan is about 4 3/4"

Again, these sizes are _nominal_, so whatever your measurement is closest to is what you need. You should be able to measure the rear fan from the outside back of the computer without taking anything apart.

How do i install the cooling fan for a gateway 702ge

Assuming we are talking about a case fan, bring out a flashlight and possibly a magnifying glass, and start sweeping your main/motherboard, every place you see free pins or connectors there will be a tiny white text next to it on the circuitboard. Fan connector should be between 2 and 4 pins, and be labeled "CASE FAN 1/2" or similar.

Secondly secure the fan itself using either metal screws or anti vibration rubber screws, and you can mount it anywhere it fits / where the power cable allows it to go.

Bare in mind the direction of the airflow when positioning the fan, note that it is generally better to have more fans sucking air into the case than blowing out, creating a higher pressure inside the case and thus preventing dust from getting sucked in & clogging small openings like unused USB ports and most of the media ports on PC back side.

The cooling fan on my Gateway 506GR has been noisy for several months. Now it "groans" every few minutes, but continues to run.

Have you cleaned all dust from the fan and inside the computer? If not disconnect all cables from the computer and take the tower outside. Remove the side panel and with a can of compressed air or an air compressor blow all dust from all fans, heat sinks, and all other components. Do not touch anything inside the computer without first grounding yourself to the chassis. If this does not solve your problem the fan needs replacing.

Most CPU fans come with the heatsink. Try not to buy a fan that comes with a grill over it. That slows the fan down & makes the fan work harder.

Good luck!

Loud noise

Typical problem in most computers, the fan is experiencing a "burn out." This means there is either something caught in the fan causing it to create noise, or the motor is going bad. there are two fixes for this problem.
1) open you computer's case according to its manual and remove the system cooling fan and give it a thorough cleaning.
2) you may need to replace the cooling fan with its recommended replacement model.

Hope this helps!
