Well, you can either try another AAA battery, or buy the same MP3 from a different store.(Be careful, some stores stock defects of items, such as MP3's.)

MP3 player wont come on at all

When you took out the other "dead" battery do you think you put t.he new one in the same way? Sorry that sounds obvious but apart from that I cannot think what it can be. Is the battery you bought in its sell by date, you would be suprised how often they are now. Failing these two things get back to the shop and let them sort it out. Good luck

Won't play

I put in a NiMH AAA battery in it, and it turned on. I tested it with new alkaline and copper top batteries and it would not turn on. Must not like the 1.5 volts only 1.4 volts.

I PUT MY MP3 PLAYER IN THE WASHER BY MISTAKE (NEXTAR MP3 PLAYER)

Water damage = irreversible. I have heard from creatives who dried out their player - but even they got, at best, occasional play once in a while. **** it up - replace the player. Sorry.

the rca pearl does not have an external power source, only the AAA battery. Just put in a new AAA and you're good.

PLease someone help me!

one 'AAA' is expensive, you're right. you can expect maybe ten hours of continuous operation before you have to go to the bank.

seriously, with a fresh 'AAA' battery installed, you DO have to press and hold the 'play/pause' button for what seems a long time. don't release the button until the Delstar name appears.
