How do I fix a washing machine that doesn't fill with water, but spins and drains? Water enters the detergent holder, but doesn't seem to make it to the tub. Draining can be heard as well, even though

Hum for one a front load H.E washer should not be having very much suds as u claim it had. Are u aware the front loads are made to use very little soap and if u use to much soap hence alot of suds, ur SUDS SENSOR will act up and can shut down any wash cycle. a trick is to run just water and some vinagar trough a couple loads if u can get to wash at all. Another issue u may have is a plugged line somewhere. or loose unconnected water hose line hence the water on the ground effect. u may want to check ur flow line from the entry into the tub where the water at the moment I cant recall the name of the gadget but it can get clogged or damaged and hinder the water from entering the tub

Seems like there should be a pump or sending unit the would be controlled by the cycle timer. ProbAbly went bad. Hopefully you got the extended warranty?

Fridge defrosting to often resulting in water build up in back of fridge

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

Units are designed to go into a defrost mode every 8-10 hours, where everything will shut down with the exception of your lights. Your defrost heater will turn for 20-30 minutes, and then your unit turns back on.

Normally, water build up is due to a frozen condensate drain, where the drain is frozen and the condensate (Water) has no where to go except for the bottom of your freezer.

If your drain is clear, then you have a major problem, Unplug your unit. Remove the back cover of your freezer. In the upper right hand corner of your freezer coil, you probably have a block of ice. This means that you have a seal system restriction. The is a small tube about 1/16" in diameter with a small needle size hole through it. Here is where restrictions generally occur.
A repair of this nature is about $450.00 or more.

Sorry for the bad news.

Bosch sgs45c02 salt container ful of water

the salt dispenser is always full of water, this is normal and you have no need to drain it. Just ensure you fill the dispenser with salt when the "Low Salt Light" is illuminated

Water leaks into the vehicle on the front,

It could be a plain old fashioned leak around the windscreen - difficult to find but try sitting in the car while somebody plays a water hose over the windscreen.

It could also be a blocked drain in the ventilation system - fresh air is normally drawn in to a car via vents at the bottom of the windscreen. These vents normally lead to a "box" like structure where any water that enters the vents drops to the bottom and then drains away via a short hose that runs to somewhere underneath the car.
If the drain outlet or hose gets blocked (by leaves for example), it can cause the box to fill with water to the point where it can leak out in to the passenger area.

Hope this helps you find the problem.

When i start my dishwasher it sounds like it is filling normally then error lights 1 &3 (3h&9h) flash rapidly and water begins to drain away

This indicates an error with the pressure switch and indicates that it is jammed on full. First try switching off ther AC power to the washer and letting it stand for 30 minutes. Then switch back on the AC power and see if the error is still present. If it is then the pressure switch will need to be replaced. The pressure switch is how the machine determines how much water there is in the machine and if the switch is indicating the machine is full it will automatically pump and empty as soon as new water enters the machine.

Water continues to drain on the spin cycle while filling

there is no actual drain valve, but rather physics to keep water in tub.

The drain system MUST be located HIGHER than the deck fo the machine, with console height being preferred.

Drain during spin cycle is normal, as rinse is intended to also drain away at that time..

Hi,

I was made aware of your concern and would like to offer a few ideas you may want to consider. Water dripping down is not a leak during defrost condition as this would be the ice melting. Normally, there would be a drain hose specifically to channel the melted ice/water to a drainage system. The amount of water would then be proportional to the amount of ice melting as with the length of time to completely melt, drain away.

Perhaps you could check the filter/drain screen as well as the drain opening for any blockage/clogging. You could also try checking the same on the drain hose as well as for possible kinks. Additionally, there would be a sensor behind a boxy cover that triggers the system back into operation. If there is still melted ice/water inside the freezer, then the sensor would prevent the unit from turning on completely. You may want to check this sensor and verify that it is dry.

An exploded parts diagram would help you identify/locate the above mentioned parts.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
