I have tried other computers and wires with no luck.

I read up on this problem and talked to a person who said it was a mirror problem. I was hoping someone would know how to adjust something inside the unit that would fix this problem. I was a VCR/computer repairperson for years but never fixed a projector.

Often, this is related to the connection between your computer and projector. try to use another set of working VGA cable and change the screen resolution to 800 by 600 when using the projector. It may also help to test the projector on another computer to help isolate the issue.

if it has same issue on another computer using a different video cable, and using 800 by 600 or 640 by 480 resolution, chances are, it has something to do with the projector components itself like the LCD panels of the projector or even the lamp. you can try to use compressed air to clean the LCD panels and make sure the LCD panels afre all connected properly. if you continue to experience the same issue, you might need to get the panels replaced or get the projector serviced.

If you are connecting your projector to the computer using the RS232 (Serial) connection, you may try changing the COM port under the Device Manager on your computer.

Go to Control Panel > Systems > click on Hardware tab > Device Manager.

Connect your projector using the serial connection (while Device Manager is open). Then another device should appear under Ports (COM & LPT).
Expand the Ports (COM & LPT) > open the device > go to Port Settings > click on Advanced button > change the COM port.

Thank you and good luck!

Did you replace the lamp with the EXACT type that was in the projector prior to changing it? Sounds like there is difference in lamps.

My Epson Powerlite 5350 has a ghost image. Any recommendation on how to adjust the projector to remove this symptom?

I've got the same problem on two Epson EMP7300.
I believe (from reading about other projectors) that the ghost image can be adjusted with RS232 codes.
Does anyone know how to do this?

One of our Epson PowerLite projectors was working

We found that the bulb was dim because it was about to burn out. The projector's filter han't been kept clean, causing it to run hot, which in turn shortened the bulb's life.

Epson powerlite s4 projector is pink

I assume this is an LCD. I don't remember the s4 being a DLP projector.

This sounds like the LCD panel used for the red color has gone out. The image is made up of red, green and blue images layered upon the screen. If the red panel has gone out then there is nothing filtering out the red light in the image. This causes a nice red hue to the whole screen.

It could be a simple open and reconnect fix. I personally have never opened a projector, so I'm not going to walk you through it as I do not know how hard it would be to tinker with. It should eb a cheap fix for a true repair man though.
