DVR refuses to rewind or pause live TV or record

If you are still experiencing problems with your 625 receiver performing live DVR functions, try unplugging the receiver for about 10 seconds and plugging back in. This will cause the receiver to reboot and acquire satellite signal. After the picture returns, then try to pause. If it still doesn't work, then we may need to replace the receiver. I hope this helps.

The receiver hard drive is comparable to a computer hard drive. When a problem is detected with the hard drive, the receiver will give an error message stating a problem has been detected. Depending on the severity of the problem, sometimes it will show that unplugging the receiver for 1 minute will resolve the issue. Other times, a message will state that the hard drives needs to be reformatted, which will erase all content on the hard drive. It sounds like this is what happened to your recordings. If unplugging the receiver did not resolve the issue, we may need to replace the receiver. Please call 1-800-333-3474 and speak to a Technical Support agent.

Dish 625 DVR recorder won't play recorded shows. It gives me an error code (05)


Hi I will be more than glad to assist you in this concern. First press the power button on the front panel of the receiver for 10secs. once you press it the receiver will turn off and it should turn on by itself, once it turns on by itself you will see attention 015, press the menu button on the upper left of the remote, once you see the menu button press 6, 1, 1 on the remote and it should show on the screen point dish, select on check switch, once u are on the installation summary screen, select on test and it should do a test of 1 of 3 or it depends on your sat orbital location that u have.. once its done, it will show the installation summary screen and you should see sat input 1 & 2 with port1 up to 2 or 3 depends on your sat orbital location, all the trans on the sat 119, 110 or 129 if you have should be ok and green. once you see that all ok, select done on the screen, and it will be back to point dish, select done again, and then cancel all the way out of the menu, it should show on the screen attention 015, let it finish until it download the programming guide, once its done it should show a tv pic. press the dvr button and access your recorded event, it should play the dvr event. if the problem still exist, unplug the power of the dvr from the power outlet for 1 minunte then plug it back again and it should acquire the sat signal and download the programming guide, once it shows a pic. press again the dvr button and access the recorded event. it should play the recorded event, just incase the problem still exist, check what will be the exact error msg, write it down in a piece of paper and please feel free to get in touch or you can call on 1-800-333-3474..in order to for the dish tech support replace the receiver, this is a dvr lost of function.

Timers & recorded events erased


Ocassionally these receivers have been known to do this. It is not an issue that normally repeats itself however it is very frustrating. The upside is it ussuaaly will result in 150 hrs of record time. If you did not receive the150 hrs delete all timers and recording and reboot the system. You should have the 150 hrs once it comes back online. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

I lost 60 hrs. of recording time in less than 24 hrs. on VIP 622


Remove all the External Storage devices, make sure that you Un-Plug them Completely including their Power. After Resting the Dish Receiver, Plug-In everything back on and try.

510 DVR has to reload sat signal when accessing recorded events.


There was not a software upgrade in the last month for the 510 according to Dish Network. With that being said the issue is more than likely a bad hard drive. If you have to replace the receiver ask about a non dvr model that supports an external hard drive. This will allow you to keep from paying the dvr fee every month and allow you to have better control of your recordings eg. more record time, saved recordings if receiver needs to be replaced etc. There is a 39.99 one time fee for Dish to enable this feature but it is well worth it in my opinion. You may also want to check out the line of Sling media they have available also if you are an avid TV fan.

Recording from the TV


I don't thinks it possible. Usually those cameras can record through a DV port that is two way not though an analog device.

You will have to use a Tivo, a DVD recorder, a VCR, or a computer with at TV tuner and DVR capability.

Dvr recording skip sound


probably a dying hard drive, but could just be corruption, delete all effected recordings, monitor, if issue continues delete all recordings unplug receiver for 10 minutes, monitor new recordings if continues receiver may need to be replaced
