Hello i have a problem I can not connect to this router, please help my system is the ultimate win7

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

Can't find my WEP or Passphrase key. Please help!

The WEP or Passphrase encryption key is in the router's wireless settings.
To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the USB wireless card in the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/computers can communicate with your wireless router.

I have a wireless network of computers, one wired and 2 wireless. in the correct setup, my other acer laptop doesn have internet, but s connected to the router, and this laptop im using CAN connect...

All the computers should have the same NETWORK NAME or SSID.

Recheck the settings and make an adhoc connection for each of the computers to your router.

You can also get a USB wireless adapter to enable ht NO internet laptop and connect them.

Just keep playing with the NETWORK SETTINGS.

Make sure all are connected to the SAME SSID.

Hope it helped.

God Bless You!

Linksys 64bit passphrase

The passphrase is a phrase you create instead of using hex numbers (phrases are easier to remember than hex numbers) to setup the wireless encryption key.
To configure the Linksys wireless setting, connect a LAN cable from the Linksys LAN port to the computer's LAN port. Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
Then go to the wireless settings and configure the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption.
Use a passphrase to setup the encryption key

I want to have a passphrase but no key numbers, how do I do this?

Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL, enter the login and password and then go to the wireless settings to configure the encryption setting. I suggest you use WPA or WPA2 encryption, this is the latest and strongest encryption method. You can enter the passphrase instead of hex numbers. Use this passphrase to configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop so it can connect to the Linksys wireless router.

You can access the settings of your wireless router/modem opening your browser (Internet Explorer, for example) and typing in it's IP address, for example:

Linksys's, Trendnet IP is http://192.168.1.1
Netgear and D-Link http://192.168.0.1
Belkin, USRobotics http://192.168.2.1

Then, look for the security settings of the wireless connection and set it to WPA or WPA-PSK, TKIP and make your own passphrase.

Then, double click on your laptop's wireless connection's icon in the system tray and connect manually to the now "secure wireless network" entering the passphrase that you set up in the router.

Still stuck? Look in the wireless router's manual to learn how to secure your connection.

It's the password you used to setup security in your wireless router.

Need to get laptop connected to wireless connection

The passphrase only means that there is a security enabled on that wireless network. You are correct, you need to know that passphrase for you to be able to successfully connect your laptop to that wireless network.

If you need more help on how to get this passphrase just let me know.

Security Keys or Passphrase

  1. Now we will secure you wireless connection to prevent others from connecting. Under the Home tab, click the Wireless option from the left.
  2. Beside the SSID option, enter the name for your wireless network connection.
  3. Beside Security, select WPA. If you can’t connect using WPA, then select WEP. Using WPA will provide a much more secure connection that using WEP. For more information about WEP and WPA please read Wireless Security: WEP and WPA.
  4. Click AES beside the Cypher Type.
  5. Make sure PSK is selected beside PSK/EAP.
  6. Now you must get very creative. Specify a long Passphrase with a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and punctuation. Once again, please read Creating Secure Passwords for tips on how to do this. In this case the longer the better. Make sure you write down this key somewhere, either on a piece of paper or in a text document on your computer. You will need this information when you connect to your wireless network.
  7. Enter your passphrase next to Passphrase and again beside Confirmed Passphrase.
  8. Click Apply to save your security settings.
  9. Now you are all done securing your wireless router and network. All you need to do is connect to your network, and enter your Passphrase exactly as you specified it. I won’t go into detail on how to connect to your wireless network, as I will save that for another post.
