these have software in them for the board in the factory case ...you will have to use a data recovery software to recover contents then reformat the drive OR try installing it as a second drive inside the pc directly to the sata/ide cables not usb. good luck
Sadly no, hard drives have moving parts that go broke really easy especially under shocks. Just take it back to where you bought it from and hope for replacement. Don't mention that it fell off though.
sounds like you droped your drive or shook the poop out of it
eithor way it's time 4 surgery
first open the case and make sure the plugs are ann pushed in my ide cable fell out 1 time and it did the same thing
if a cable fell out then u might get her back
i asume you have checked your fuse and used a dfferent usb cable first right be cause somtimes as we all know usb cables break and die so we would have tried a different cable b4 you posted this question
If it was running at the time it fell, the heads crashed into the platters, and the buzzing you're hearing is the dents left in the platters spinning by 7200 times a second.
Not good. Likely will need a professional service to recover the data.
If the spinning sound is not clean anymore there is damage to the hard drive and I doubt it will be easy to get the data out. If the drive still shows up in the disk management you can try to access it with a tool like ddrescue and then run photorec on the created image. If you want somebody else to do it for
you there is Data Recovery NYC. Also there is good informaation on hard drive repairs on hddguru.com.
the only blue light that i know blinks is the Kmart blue light special .. we need model of things you're working with to properly diagnose. is it external drive ? with a blue light blinking ? is it connected in usb ? sounds like if its external drive with blinking light could be bad hard disk or bad controller card inside that translates ide to usb.
