Likely be a tranformer but either way contact Rinnai direct, you have full parts and labour warranty if only 4 months old. They will send a service agent out.

Depends who you spoike to at Rinnai. Transformer is just a guess/a place to start. Could also be the main gas solenoid. Just tell them to fix it!!

Hi my Rinnai spectrum 28 gas heater only burns on high heat settings if i change it to anything lower it blows out what does this mean?

If this is occurring on windy days, a back draft in the flue termination is blowing the pilot out. When this happens ,everything shuts down, as it should. If it occurs under all weather conditions, the air filter may need cleaning. Also, be sure that there are no obstructions blocking the air louvers on the front of the heater.

To assist you further, I have included a link to the owner's Manual for your model, in case you have misplaced yours. You may download and print this manual if you like.

I hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Extremely annoying humming sound coming from our rinnai RCE-318H gas heater. sounds like a bearing or wheel spinning noise. please help?

The humming you hear is from the gas pressure or lack there of. Check the inline gas shut off valve, to make sure it's fully open. If that checks out OK, turn the unit OFF completely and wait five minutes, before turning everything back ON and relighting the heater. If the noise is still there, contact your Rinnai dealer for a service call.

I hope this helped you, Arthur. Thanks for choosing FixYa. Cheers!

Want to replace old rinnai 2000 with ultima

I have changed a 2001 Consule to an Ultima Consule once and just had to raise it up 50mm using a plinth. I made one myself using some nice tiles and hardwood face that pleased the customer. I've tried to search through my manuals for a 2000 to double check that the flue spigot is the same width and depth but couldn't find one.

All I can say is my swap worked ok with the plinth. Not sure how a 4" one will look though? Double check measurements on the old 2000 and you should be ok.

Only other way would be to cut out a larger hole in the wall to access the flue, fabricate an extension to the twin wall down pipe and actually drop the spigot opening. Sounds a bit more hassle, hard to say without actually seeing the thing. Hope it turns out ok and this limited advice was worth it.

My WD-52525 started a rubbing noise coming from the back area. I figure it's the light engine. Color was off and it won't restart, has a lamp light now. Lamp is 4 months old. Sound like light engine?

This sounds like your color wheel. this will affect the colors on your screen. Do check your lamp though, at 4 months you still should have a good lamp. Unless you have a bad ballast affecting the lamp as well. If you hear a rapid clicking or an electrical buzzing type noise. "ballast"

Rinnai gas heater loud noise on ignition

It may be, Rinnai suggests a maximum length of about 13 equivalent feet of venting including elbows. Add 6 feet for every 90 degree elbow. If the vent is longer than this it is taxing the combustion fan motor and it will start giving you error codes and will not ignite. Remove the trim panel from behind the heater and find the flexable air intake pipe. Temporally remove it from a fitting and test the unit a few times to see if the unit starts quieter. This procedure will be taking room air into the heater for combustion and circumventing the direct vent feature of the heater, not a fix. Have you had the gas pressure tested? It gould be that! You may wish to consider relocating the heater and fire your installation contractor for putting you in this predicament, not Rinnai.

I have a 4 month old Dell Studio 1535 laptop, with audio problems

Firstly check that the microphone level is down or turned off as this sounds like some sort of feedback that's being produced.

Check the microphone and try to play music again.

Please post back

Good luck.

I am needing an instruction manual for rinnai energysaver 556/FTR as have purchased and moved into property recently and am having trouble operating the heater and am concerned with a red filter light that...

navigate to tradesmart, space heating, energysavers.
Red filter light means the filter is blocked.
its located directly on the back of the heater and the wall spacer, from the control panel, its about 4 inches back.
Pull it up, clean reinstall
