Faiz ahmed32, If that many units have failed, then you should open at least 3 of them and check the power supply boards for "failed electrolytic filter capacitors" that may be causing this common symptom!! Try www.badcaps.net , http://www.lesliewong.us/blog/2005/05/02/hp-pavilion-f1703-flat-panel-display-blackout-solution/ Please report back your findings if bad capacitors is the cause of monitor problem. Also report the brand name of the capacitor manufacture here so everyone else will know too!!! 12fixlouie

Menu box on screen won't come off

If the buttons are micro-switch type buttons (like you would have on a car's alarm remote) and they don't have the proper feel, then the monitor is probably ready for the recycle bin. Doing a little looking around it appears that the monitor you have is prone to failure. I think you should look into a replacement. Samsung makes a great monitor these days. I would steer clear of anything made by HP. Here is a link to someone else's woes with that particular monitor. Good luck!

How to remove "no composite inpute signal"

If you have the same problem with both monitors, it sounds like a display card setting or problem.
The chances of you having the same problem with different units is 1- 50.
Try the monitors on a different PC and get back to me.

The osd main menu has appeared on my hp pavilion f1703 monitor

Control Panel->System->Hardware->Device Manager->Monitor. select and uninstall. Then let Windows detect the monitor and re-install the drivers for your monitor. Do the same for the disply adapter in the Ctrl Panel.

Volume pop up in the middle of my screen

no photos of said window presented? i cant see them?
must be OSD? the monitor brain on screen display (menu)?
even with the DVI cable pulled?
only a monitor stated, w1907, no PC
some monitors have button lock
read the manual ?oops HP deleted it...
it tells you to push the menu key on the monitor for 10 seconds
and it unlocks. (4 buttons right side left button is MENU)
doom?
that power deal sounds super bad, like the power supply is bad.
if the monitor fails by its self not plugged it to a PC
then the monitors is bad.
try a reset on it? ( power off for 1hr, or off then plug in with power button held? or power on with menu held (wild guesses but common practice)
ok found your manual page 4-8 shows menu page advanced
list line in list factory reset.
but if the keys are dead, and power lamp failing
the power supply is no good or worse. worse is always possible.
and expensive

ever see the support page, read the guides

My computer screen has a blue box that pops up and say "Controls locked". I am assuming that the buttons on the bottom right hand corner of my moniter is what it is talking about because when I hit the...

This is from the user manual for the monitor. You can download a copy from hp here:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=324216&os=228&lang=en&

Click on the "monitor user's guide" link to download.

There are four adjustable options on the OSD settings screen: Lock OSD settings, Timeout, H Position, and V Position.
To change OSD settings:
1 Open the OSD setting screen under the Advanced menu. See
“Using the On Screen Display” on page 25.
2 Press the Browse buttons to select the option you want to adjust.
3 Press the Select button to check the option.
To change OSD lock setting:
1 Press the Browse button to select yes (lock) or no (unlock). The
setting is automatically saved when you change the value.
2 Choose Exit sub-menu and press the Select button to return to
the OSD Main Menu or press the Menu button to exit OSD.
NOTE: Once OSD is locked, all OSD functions including the
shortcut buttons are disabled. If OSD is locked, pressing
any button on the monitor directly opens the Lock OSD
settings window so that you can unlock OSD.
