Warranty is usually stated in the receipt, warranty card and on a sticker at the back of laptop which indicate the shop's name and the date you made the purchase. Warranty is usually good for one year, in some cases, there is an option to increase the warranty year in exchange of a minimal amount. Warranty is your assurance is in good running condition, free of defects, and in the case that your unit will bogged down, the shop or the brand's company will have the responsibility to repair or replace the unit free of charge.

ok , i have a computer similar to yours (6710b), i'm from colombia , i haved the same problem more or less 2 years ago , the unique solve to this problem (in my case this was a good election) is to format the hard disk and reinstall the windows or the operative sistem that you use , first make a backup of your most important archives in a USB memory , forgive me if you don't understand so very well , i'm starting to learn english.

My usb port does not respond on my HP laptop

Hello there.

I understand that you are unable to use the USB port of your computer.

To isolate the issue try performing these steps.

1) Check whether the device is working fine.
2) Check with other USB ports to the same Notebook.
3) If these steps do not work then you can do this.
a) If your Notebook is under warranty you can send it to free repair ( Contact for more information)
b) If it is not under warranty then check for the repair cost from chat support.

How2use webcam (it works) for online talking via google-talk


As you are using to talk with your son on webcam, I can understand how Important it is to use Webcam in Gtalk.

But unfortunately Google didn'r include the webcam option as of now in Gtalk.

I am sure they will add this feature with the next comming versions of Gtalk.

It's odd that BestBuy did not send you're notebook back to HP for you but the BestBuy you are talking about is not in the USA.
The HP Pavilion DV2125NR. Bought December 2007 is still under warranty. Most laptops & desktops come with a one year warranty, unless you paied for an extended warranty. For the HP Pavilion DV2125NR, contact HP directly for a RMA. You will may have to pay for shipping to HP USA. Hp will ship back to you free. To contact HP.

The notebook bought in December 2006 is not within warranty, (Unless you bought an extended service). As you mentioned.
I would not trust the BestBut in Venezuela. It seems they may have stated bad boards just to get ridd of you.
It is alway best to talk directly to HP/Compaq customer service before making any decision.
