You did not state the complete and exact model number but based on the model number given, I assume the machine is a top loader. The closest model number I found is 6LSC9245HQO and this machine has a Magic Clean lint filter located at the bottom of the basket. Wash and rinse water flow over the filter, separating the lint from the water. The lint then spins out of the machine during the spin cycle.

The only way to access and clean the lint filter is by taking out the basket. This requires the removal of the agitator then the basket but you will need a special tool called spanner nut wrench to remove spanner nut holding the basket to the drive block.

Please indicate the exact model number of the machine for more specific advice or if you need further assistance. You don't have to accept or reject and rate this post to add information or post comments and follow-up questions. But accepting the solution will not stop you from communicating with the expert. You may continue communicating with the expert as long as you need assistance regarding the issue stated herein.

I have a Whirlpool Super Capacity Plus washer (Commercial Quality) model 6LSC9245HQ0 and I am getting a lot of lint all over my clothes. Is there a lint filter? If so where is it and how do I clean...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play!

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning!

Good luck!

Cannot find the model number on my Whirlpool washing machine. It is a top loading machine, with such features as: 4 Load size, 4 Tempature settings, 8 cycles, 4 speed combinations, commercial quality....

If this was a scratch and dent model, model number may have been removed prior to sale. If not, you should find it on the back edge of the washer at the very top as you look over the back of the machine. If you can't find a model number, bring the part(s) you need to a servicer. They may be common parts or there may be some identifying numbers on the parts themselves. Good luck.
