Hi there, I have the same DIR-625 Wireless Router. Here's my problem. My internet provider went down and when it got back up, somehow my router wasn't working anymore so my laptop couldn't connect. I tried resetting the router by holding down the side button...it lit up blue and flashed for a few seconds. It has been awhile since I set up the configuration for the router and of course, I've forgotten my password. When I login to the configuration interface using Admin and a blank password it doesn't allow me access...it will allow me to get in using User and a blank password, but it won't allow me to change my password to something I can remember. Can you please simply tell me how to change my password (without remembering the old one)....Do I have to completely uninstall the router and re-install? Please let me know. Thank you! -- Stressed in Winnipeg, MB ;)

I have the same problem. I have a Linksys D-Link DI-614+ and i don't know the username and password to configure it to my computer. I have tried admin, admin; admin, blank; admin, password;....everything. Do you have any idea what they could be?

Do you still need help setting up your router? The posted solution for this was wrong. The default user name is admin but the default password is nothing ( just leave blank). If you need more help I need your model # and your rev level. Either on the bottom or the back. Will say REV A,B,C, etc. Don't think D-Link has disks to download but they will have quick setup guides. Either way let me know what happens. (Also, you do not want set this uo via wireless. Use a cable and then you can run wireless once it's setup)

In internet explorer search bar type in this code here 192.168.0.1 this is your fixed router ip this will bring up the screen for router protocol
it will ask for name and password unless you changed the password and name it should still be normal
type=admin for name
type=password for password this will give info on your routers and specs
also windows now has a wireless network setup so i believe you should run that to get your wireless router up and running

How do i hook up my d-link dir 615 to a different computer without the disk

You need to go into the D-Link wireless settings to get the SSID and encryption settings and configure the wireless card in the different computer with these settings.

Connect a LAN cable from the D-Link to your laptop/computer'sLAN port, open the browser on your laptop/computer and enter the D-Link's configurationURL..
http://192.168.0.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = blank (just press Enter)You can now change the default adminpassword.
You can now configure the wireless settings. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop withthe router's wireless settings. To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Lost setup disk

Unless it asks for the disk, then contact the company that you're with but normally, you don't need a setup disk, the only thing that most discs that come with routers are used for is to show you how to connect it, but if you already know, you don't need it, but once you have the router connected you should have internet connectivity.

Unsecured connection Need to know how to add security to my dlink wireless router so that my wireless internet connection is not used by others.

there are usually two ways to do this. one, your router should have came with a disk. if you run that disk it should walk you through step by step. if no disk, try typing 192.168.1.1 into the address bar. this should take you into the router diagnostics. in this, you should see some tabs about setting up the wireless settings. if neither one of these work, the best bet is probably calling dlink tech support for help.

I bought a wireless router wrt54g and I dont have the disk to install it so what can I do?

You won't need the disk.  You can plug your computer directly to the router.  From there it should receive an IP address.
Go to Internet Explorer>192.168.1.1>enter credentials, then you can setup your wireless settings.
Use window to manage your wireless services.

No connection to internet

First thing you need is to run the set up disk that you should have received when you purchased modem. It should run you through the steps. This should also allow you to set up your wireless connection also. It should also provide you the access code for your wireless security. Basically what this does is prevent unauthorized access to your network. Whenever you add additional computers you will need to set up each individually and enter access codes. If you don't have a disk you might need to contact manufacturer to get a replacement disk. Good luck.

Will a set up disk for a WRT54GS v.6 Linksys wireless router work to set up a v.1 router?I CANNOT use or make Firma-ware, or whatever that is, work. Where can I get a driver disk for a WRT54GS v.1 Linksys...

You really don't need the disk. Just plug the wires in and push the square button on the left hand side with the Linksys logo and that will set it up. Just wait until the light is a steady orange color. It will blink white while it's setting up. It could take a couple minutes.
