Hi there

Remove the MP3 player, wait at least 10 seconds and plug it back in. Do this multiple times. It may connect after a couple tries. If not, continue by opening the device manager.

Open the Start menu search box and type "Device Manager." Chose it from the list of available options

Locate the device by searching for a yellow exclamation point. If you do not see it, click to expand "Universal Serial Bus Controllers."

Choose the player from the list and right-click it.

Click "Uninstall." Click "OK" to restart when prompted. If there is no change, try again, this time placing a check by "Delete the driver software for this device." This option might require you to reinstall the drivers, so don't try this unless you have the disc handy.

Plug in the media player after the restart. You should see a message stating the device is connected and ready to use. If this fails, find the website for the manufacturer of the MP3 player to see if there is a firmware or driver update. Install the update according to the instructions.

XP and Vista probably won't recognize it without drivers installed for it, I would suggest trying it on a newer computer, something running Windows 8 or 10 should see it just fine. The older operating systems just arent that compatible with newer USB devices unless you have a driver to install for them first.

DVD plays in DVD player is not seen at all by Windows XP

Hi,it's obvious from your problem that the particular disc that cannot be viewed on your computer is of a formatt not supported by the windows XP.some DVDs are of low quality which can be viewed practically on any DVD player but as a result of their low quality and the sensitivity of the Windows they are not recognized by your computer. In as much as other DVDS play on your computer,it means there's no problem with your computer, but an unsupported disc formatt is been trying to be viewed and there's nothing you can do to view a DVD formatt not supported by your computer.please don't be bothered.
Thanks and take care

Lacie 250GB Hard Disk is not being recognized by PC (Windows XP)

Some PC's cannot deliver enough power to the USB devices to function properly through the USB port.
Does your Lacie hard disk have a power input connector if so conect a power adapter to it before you put it into your USB port.

Another alternative, get a powered USB hub connect it into your computer then connect the Lacie hard drive to the powered USB hub.
