Question about Insignia Kix MP3 Player

1 Answer

Color Screen is black

My Insignia Kix player was working fine but now every time I turn it on the screen is black and the words are in red! The player is fully charged, so its not the battery and I've tried adjusting the brightness. Does anyone know whats wrong?

The LCD is failing. Take it back to Best Buy and they'll either repair or replace it.

To charge your player, turn your computer on and connect the player with a USB cable. More details can be found in the owner's manual.

On the screen, it reads WRITING with 2 arrows above it.

I had a similar problem with mine, but this may not apply to you. I used my kix on my new macbook, and it worked fine. But when I tried to use it on my family's xp computer afterwards it said that it was writing and media player wouldn't pick it up but the computer itself did. My guess is the problem comes from switching systems between windows and apple. I also never bothered with disconnecting it "properly", which I recommend since it may have also caused the problem. But tell me if this helps.

Just format it. It'll delete all you've got on the mp3, but it'll work.

Will Not Start Up

Hello 123cat,

The rechardeable battery in the Insignia Kix MP3 player has a finite lifespan. The amount of operating time you can expect in between charges will naturally decrease until the battery gets to a point where it is no longer able to power the unit. Assuming you are charging the unit properly, it sounds like you may have reached that point.

You can purchase a new rechargeable battery for this unit by going to
