My Insignia Kix player was working fine but now every time I turn it on the screen is black and the words are in red! The player is fully charged, so its not the battery and I've tried adjusting the brightness. Does anyone know whats wrong?

I had a similar problem with mine, but this may not apply to you. I used my kix on my new macbook, and it worked fine. But when I tried to use it on my family's xp computer afterwards it said that it was writing and media player wouldn't pick it up but the computer itself did. My guess is the problem comes from switching systems between windows and apple. I also never bothered with disconnecting it "properly", which I recommend since it may have also caused the problem. But tell me if this helps.
The rechardeable battery in the Insignia Kix MP3 player has a finite lifespan. The amount of operating time you can expect in between charges will naturally decrease until the battery gets to a point where it is no longer able to power the unit.
