1. Take the battery out of the laptop & try to turn on the laptop using power adapter only. If the computer turns on, then the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.
2. Make sure the power adapter is not defective. Test the output voltage of the power adapter using a voltmeter. Compare the voltmeter reading to the nominal value written on the adapter or the laptop.
3. Make sure the DC jack is not loose or broken. A loose DC jack will need to be re-soldered. A broken one will need to be replaced.
4. If you have another processor which is compatible with your laptop's model, try swapping processors & test to see if the laptop will work.
5. The power button could be bad.

6. The motherboard could be defective & needs to be replaced

My tv has no power light. already checked plug and socket and all seems to be fine but still no red light

More information is needed.
Some tv's have a primary power switch along the side or bottom edges (not the small on/off button on the side). This switch is easy to bump when moving the TV. If the switch isn't your problem then you have a bad power supply board inside the TV.

When there heavy rainfall , water goes itno the passenger side door i have to move the rubber on bottom of door to let water out, why is this hapening ?

There are small drain holes along the bottom of the door, and it sounds like yours are clogged. Inspect the window seal along the rear edge and along the bottom window seal where the glass meets the door.
Another option would be to drill small, additional holes along the bottom of the door. If you do, make sure you locate them on the outside of the rubber seal. Otherwise, the water will drain inside the car. Hope this helps.

Brake lights stay on

Ok, the brake light is turned on when the brake lever is pulled. The switch is actually located in the right switch housing along with the right turn signal switch, starter switch, and throttle. It's simple button switch. When the lever is pulled, it pivots on the pivot pin and small tang on the bottom side to the lever swings FORWARD releasing the swith turning on the light. When you let go the tang swing backwards depressing the button turning off the light.

Loosen the bolts that hold your front brake master cylinder to the handlebar and slide the master cylinder back towards the switch houslng as far as you can. They should be touching. If the light still won't turn off, you'll have to take the right hand switch housing apart and replace the small switch.

Good Luck

I lost the booklet for the radio in my 1990 Jaguar XJS. It sits all winter in the garage and the battery wore down. The radio says code when i turn it on. The dealer says i must remove the radio to get the...

Remove the two environmental knobs by firmly pulling them. Note that they don't interchange (they're notched 180' out from each other) - but figuring out which one is which is easy - the FAN should be off when you do this, and that one will have the indicator facing down when you reassemble.
Behind the knobs are keyed nuts. Remove by using an appropriatley-sized flatbladed screwdriver while pushing in on the face plate (reducing the back pressure on the nut).
Once you have the two nuts out (one on each control shaft), you should remove the stereo face trim. Use an allen wrench or some other small bent piece of metal and gently insert it between the stereo and the facing along the side of the stereo (there is some space there), and pull the facing forward a bit at a time (possibly alternating sides). You can also do the same along the bottom of the facing (near the console) and along the top (below the light switches and trip computer).
Note:there are wires along the bottom edge, and they don't have a long play, so you'll be pulling the TOP DOWN rather than the bottom up when you clear the front of the stereo housing. Be careful: there are fibre optics here for lighting.
To either side of the stereo are two screws. Remove them and slowly pull the stereo outward. Disconnect the stereo from the two harnesses (speakers and power/controls), unscrew the grounding strap and unplug the antenna. Remove stereo.

How do you replace rear tail light assembly?

Open the trunk and along the bottom of the tail light, there should be a Philips screw securing a cover piece. (your car may or may not have this piece)
With the cover off, there will be another 2 screws securing the bottom of the tail light assembly. Remove the screws and pull the bottom out and the top is held in by two retainers that should just slide right out

When I turn on my computer, i can hardly see a thing.

Problem is with the backlights. They are long fluorescent tubes usually on the top and bottom of the lcd screen. Most of the time the inverter (the small board that develops several hundred volts to power the light) has failed.

Failure of inverter can (but not always) be helped along with weak florescent (cold cathode) tubes. (caused by use, old age)

Cluster PCB

sorry i don't have a photo yet, but what i did was remove a small section of the laquer from the track on the PCB about 1/2 inch away from the plug socket, then pre-tinned & soldered a small insulated wire (small speaker wire, only 1 part of the figure 8 cable) from the bottom right plug track (common pos for the warning lights) to the solder joint @ the lower end of the under PCB link that goes to the bottom left screw fitting of the tacho, this bypassed the crack in the PCB,
if there is "NO" burn marks & it is only a cracked track you will-not have any problem in bypassing the crack with a small wire, or even running a small solder track along the PCB track, just remember to remove the laquer, kind regards waz
