Question about Samsung HCM4215W 42" Rear Projection Television
I was reading your advice about a individual who was
experiencing power problems with his Samsung HCM4215 television.
I'm having the same problem too. The picture on the television was fantastic now convergence problems and the set has been rarely used. All of a sudden I started to get a loud popping sound when I turned on the television. The television functioned fine, but only on the initial start-up would I hear the popping sound. After about a couple of months of the popping sound, the television stopped turning on. No power.
I followed your instructions. I first unplugged the connectors on the convergence board to see if the set would turn on. No luck. So now I'm down to either replacing both the power/deflection board and STR type regulator IC or just one of the two. My question is: do I need to change both? I know what the power/deflection board is (AA94-08574A), but I don't know what the STR type regulator IC (AA13-00105A) is.
Can you please help me? I don't know what to do next.
I have a 14" samsung hitron tv with a STR problem. The STR got burn beyond identification. Could you please help me with the value of the STR or a schematic diagram for this TV?
My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org

Tips for a great answer:
Sep 29, 2014 | Samsung Ml-1665 Monochrome Laser Printer
Mar 20, 2014 | Samsung LN46A630 46 in. LCD HDTV

The main reasons of your problem is the bulb which is already came to its end. The unit will automatically shuts off when it sense a bulb failure. But before you replace the bulb I would advice you to work first on itspower supply. Look for open fuse/fusible resistor and spot some bad solder joints. This will do the same symptoms like what it showing now. If you don't have necessary tools and test instruments, and can't do the job yourself, I would advice you to look for a professional to troubleshoot the problem. Don't attempt to work in the power supply if you don't know the safety precaution of handling it, there some stored electricity enough to hurt you with a little mistake only.
The lamp is usually located at the side of the tv.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya
