Question about Kingston 4GB Secure Digital High Capacity Memory Card

1 Answer

I just put a new kingston 4 gigabite SDHC card in my Emprex 5 megapixel camera, and to my surprise, the camera froze up, the lens came out but nothing else happends, or works. Hmmm. Maybe it's a defective card or maybe my camera won't take a 4 gigabite SDHC memory card. The owners manual says nothing about a maximum size. My old memory card, a 512 MB worked fine. What do you think?

Probably either: too big for the camera or the HC is not compatible. Did you try to format the card? Put the other one back in and see if that one still works. If so, take the card back, with thte camera and show the vendor that it does not work. Get a Non-HC card. It will probably be smaller as well, because the bigger capacity is a relative design increase with the speed (HC).

Is it allows to use 32 gigabites memory card?

I'm surprised the 32GB card is working at all. The Z1000 works with MMC and SD cards, which max out at 2GB. If the 32GB SDHC card is working at all, the camera will treat it as a 2GB SD card, unable to see the rest of the memory.

Normally, you can only insert an SD card one way. Try a different SD card or check to see if the SD card you're using has the "write protect" switch on. If that's not the issue try formatting the card in your PC and then format it in the camera.

Hi Will a Kingston 4 GB SDHC Card fit a Sony Digital Still Camera DSC-S2000

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible. If your camera's manual does not specifically say that it works with SDHC cards, then it probably won't.

You do not need a card this size in a still camera anyway. If a 1GB SD card is insufficient for your needs (gosh!) then just carry a couple of them and swap when one is filled, like people used to carry spare films.

Why won't Kingston SDHC 4 gb card work in Casio EX Z57 camera

The EX-Z57 is designed to work with SD cards, not SDHC cards. While an SDHC card will fit into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Sd card not recognizable

I read the following spec for your camera: Recording Media Internal Flash Memory 64MB Video/Image
SD/SDHC Up To 32GB Video/Image
So, I think that an 8 GB SD card should work.

Try another capacity and brand to make it work.

I have bought a 4 Gig SD card but my camera won't accept it

If it's a 4 GB card there is a chance your camera doesn't have SDHC support.

SD cards 4 GB and over are called SDHC cards and your phone may not have the ability to "talk" to the card.

Nikon Coolpix 5900/4 GB Kingston SD Card

The 5900 uses SD cards. The 4GB card you have is actually an SDHC card and will not work in the 5900. You'll have to stay with cards 2GB and smaller.
