I had been successfully using the Keyboard/Mouse combo on my laptop. I
moved it to my Mac Mini Desktop, just now. I downloaded the Driver.
Typing Functionality works, except for the following...

NOTHING in the "Edit" pull down responds to Key Functions

COMMAND + "A" does not "Highlight All" Instead, I get this symbol å
Similarly, COMMAND + "Tab" does not select all open applications.

Was using the Keyboard/Mouse combo on my G4 Laptop. Moved it to my Mac Mini desktop. Wirlesess Mouse functions. Keyboard accepts typed input. Keyboard cannot initiate any of the "Edit" pull down functions—COMMAND "A" does not "Select All" it simply inserts a strange character.
same for "Command TAB" does not Bring up open app selector, just another "Alt. Character."

Will the keyboard still be paired when I turn it back on?

yes if you have paired it origanally but you donot have to turn it off if you are not using it it does not consume energy unless you hit a key and it only consumes energy for each key strike .
I only turn mine off when travelling in case of prolonged accidental key strikes

There is a long silver button with a black moon on the upper left of my keyboard. When I accidentally hit it, the screen goes black. What is it.....and how do you get your screen back?

Depending on how your keyboard is configured, that key is set to do one of two things:
  1. Puts your computer to sleep. (A low power state where almost everything is shut off, including the monitor). You can resume from sleep by hitting any key on the keyboard, hitting the power button on your computer, or clicking the mouse.
  2. Puts your computer into hibernation. (An even lower power state where everything is actually shut off, but a copy of everything open is saved to the hard drive to be opened during start up. It basically allows you to turn off the computer, but be able to turn it back on with program exactly how you left it). You can resume from hibernation only by hitting the power button on your computer.
Hope this helps. If it does, please accept and rate the solution! You can leave a testimonial or contact me with any more questions you may have. Thanks for using FixYa!

The S key is broke.

unfortunately its typically easier to replace the whole keyboard then it is to replace one key. especially since the plastic clips are usually broken off the inside of the key itself. they aren't too terribly hard to replace or expensive

then just follow this tutorial

Sony VAIO keyboard probems - th5s is h6w it ty*es- i=5 m=0 *=p L=3 etc *3ease he3*

You have accidentally turned on the NumLock feature (numeric keypad simulation, you have the digits written on these keys in different color).

The key to turn it off (NumLk) is located in the upper right area of the keyboard, try hitting it alone, with Fn and with Fn + Shift, Ctrl or Alt., checking every time if the "numeric" keys came back to normal.

Can I hook up my Casio keyboard up to my PC (CTK-551)?

if it has a headphone jack on the back of the keyboard then there is a cable that you can buy and put it in the microphone input. Another ideas is to try krystal media it is a free recording program.

I seemed to have developed a hotkey of sorts. When I hit a period while typing it goes to the upper left corner of whatever program I'm using and the dialog box opens. If I'm typing fast I can suddenly...

Normal 0 Are you using Windows Vista? If you are then go to Control Panel.
1. Click on PRINTERS.
2. When the Printer Properties come up, CLICK on KEY SETTINGS.
3. Then set up the keys by selecting the key to be setup.
In your case look in the different Key setting drop downs and find which on has the period set and change it or DISABLE it.

Hope this helps. Bud
