There are several solutions. You could just buy Office. Your university bookstore should have it relatively cheap. If that doesn't work for you, you can try out OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org). It does most of the things that MS Office does, and it's free to download. As a third option, you could use Google Docs, which is also free.
