Dryer shuts off after a few minutes

10 years old. Dryer got noisier. Now shuts off after a few minutes. Will not start again until hours later and will run for just a few minutes. Had high limit thermostat replaced 11 months ago when dryer ran but with no heat. Part is still under warranty but service call will still be charged.

GE Spacemaker dryer PCKS443FBWW. Dryer shuts off mid cycle and will not start again until 10 minutes or so go by

Go to www.repairclinic.com and enter PCKS443FBWW. You will be presented with a list of common replacement parts and may be able to view a generic GE video showing disassembly and identifying various parts. Do some preliminary checking to determine whether something got disturbed during the vigorous cleaning.

Dryer starts then stops 10 seconds later for 1 minute then starts again

You dryer has several "overheat thermostats" located at various places inside your machine.
They are to prevent fires caused by overheating.
I suspect one of them is defective, or you have another problem which is causing one to shut your dryer off.
The dryer is shutting off to prevent a fire.
Be blessed

Hi, It sounds like the coils on top the gas valve are bad. If the ignitor glows but shuts off before a flame, the coils need changed.
I hope this helps. If I can assist you further, please let me know.

Thanks

Dryer gets hot and shuts off after five minutes,

Check your vent tube to make sure it is clear. It is probably getting to hot because there is no ventilation to the outside. When you have the front off, check all the way from the lint filter to the outsid of the house.

Hunting boots no no!

If you have one of those fubuloso wrinkle guard whirlpools, they will buzz and start back up on their own in the cool down portion of the cycle the idea being the 2nd timer will keep the clothes from wrinkling by buzzing and then coming to life for a few minutes. Then it waits 10 minutes and if you aint got the clothes out or opened the door then it will repeat.
