Question about Dacor ECS127 Epicure Stainless Steel Electric Single Oven

1 Answer

Oven light The oven light switches off and on repeatedly spontaneously. When I swtich off the power, the problem stops for a short period and then reoccurs. When I press the light button firmly, the problem stops only to reoccur after the pressure is off face button. Please help. This is the second Dacor oven that we have had that had operating panel problems. This is supposed to be a quality product. We are disappointed. Thanks!

The oven light goes through cycles when it turns itself on and off spontaneously, then seems to stop. Nothing I've tried interrupts this cycle. It was on and off all day yesterday, today it's fine. Help!!

I have the same problem. I actually have to shut the oven off at the breaker box. When I switch the oven back on, it'll be fine for awhile, but it always starts with the flickering light again. Now my oven has completely died and won't heat either. I've had to replace my Dacor microwave three times since 2001 and now this. Don't think I'll buy another Dacor product!

AEG double oven/grill stopped working

It appears the oven has shorted out. Try checking the breaker box and see if any switches have been flipped. If this is not the case a new oven is in order.

Oven light blew and now no power to the oven.

If you are not knowledgable in electricity, call for service.
This is an electrical short at the light, I have seen this before.
The wiring for the light has grounded to the oven. This causes the main fuse to blow. You will need to fix the short first. Then reset the main fuse/replace.
In the case of the wall oven, you may have to remove the oven to fix it properly. Depending on the model and where the short is.

Light will not shut off

The only thing thing it can be is the light switch, as this is what gives the power to the light bulb.
It sounds like the switch contacts have shorted, thus giving a constant feed to the bulb, If it were me,I would fit a new switch, but to be sure, pull the leads of the switch, and the light should not work.
MAKE SURE POWER IS OFF FIRST!!!!!.

Oven switch does not start oven unit, switch does not light up.

Either the switch is bad or the pilot if gas, or relay or circuit if electric. You can test the swtich with an ohmmeter to see if there is power to and from the switch. Use the ohm setting and place one probe on each wire to get a reading. You can get parts and manual at repairclinic.com or partselect.com
Do test before replacing.

The main oven is not working, no fan or heat could this be a fuse? Stopped spontaneously, top oven and grill are working perfectly, only 2 years old. thank you

This sound like the heat element for the main oven is burnt out, replace the main heating element and this should correct the problem.

GE profile lower oven does not turn off...maintains low heat with the convection fan on for several hours.. When i turn oven back on and then off it stops...but the problem continues to happen periodically

Stove will not turn off CHECK

Temperature Control Thermostat

If the oven won't turn off the oven thermostat is often the cause of the problem. The electrical contacts inside the oven thermostat can weld themselves together and then the oven won't turn off. If this happens, turn off power to the entire appliance at the household circuit breaker or fuse. The oven thermostat usually cannot be tested and must be replaced if defective.

Oven Control Board

The oven control board has a set of relays that turn on and off power to the bake and broil circuits according to the customer settings and sensor input. If the oven won't turn off it could be that one of the relays on the oven control board is shorted closed, providing voltage to the heating circuit. It can be dangerous if the oven won't turn off. Don't leave the oven unattended without turning off power to the oven.

Relay board:
Some ovens are equipped with a relay board. This circuit board has several relays which control the switching of electrical current to the oven heat source. If the oven won't turn off it may be that one or more of the relays on the relay board have failed. If this happens replace the relay board. The relays on the board are not sold separately. ALSO CHECK THE BAKE AND BROIL ELEMENT.

Beeping driving me crazy

Ok, the first issue is the oven temp sensor. it is shorted. you will need to replace this device asap. Now, the second is is concerning the Self clean latch. it is not functioning and it is unable to be locked by the control(shorted). Use the procedure below to test this device.

1. If door latched:

1. Disconnect power from unit.
2. Check wires and connectors from control to door switch, then from door switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
3. Replace door switch.
4. Re-apply power.
5. Press and hold any key down for 1 minute to clear F5 failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.

2. If door not latched:

1. Disconnect power from unit.
2. Check wires and connectors from control to latch switch, then from latch switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
3. Repeat steps A and B for door switch.

3. Measure door switch (door open = switch open small low voltage terminals). Replace switch if defective.
4. Measure latch switch (unlatch = switch open, CAUTION - oven light contacts are closed). Replace switch if defective.
5. If corrections are made in any step, reconnect power to control. Press and hold any key for 1 minute to clear R failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.
6. If failure remains, disconnect power and replace control.

If the second digit on the clock display did not toggle, go to step B.
If the digit did not toggle after replacing the door switch, go to step D.
If the digit did not toggle after replacing the door switch harness, go to step F.
B. Unplug oven or disconnect power.
C. Replace door switch. (If door switch is integral to the door latch motor
assembly, replace the entire door/latch motor assembly). Go to step H.
D. Unplug oven or disconnect power.
E. Check the integrity of the harness wires and connections between the
appliance manager and the door/latch assembly. Ensure there are no shorted
or pinched wires.
If the wiring harness is pinched or damaged, replace the door switch harness.
Go to step H.
If wiring harness is good, go to step H.
F. Unplug oven or disconnect power.
G. Replace appliance manager. Go to step H.
H. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
I. Plug in oven or reconnect power.
J. Press OFF, OFF, START to reenter the Diagnostic mode and complete checks.
