Same thing here. we found a sock in the tube. We didn't take the machine apart but we took the top off to see where the tube was. It was soft to the touch and couldn't feel anything plugging it, but when you reached in to the other end from inside the machine (behing the rubber at the door at 10-11 o'clock position you can fit your hand and feel the other end of the tube, the rubber around the door is actually 2 pieces fit very well together, you can separate them and reach behind the rubber) that is where the sock was found. It is beyond me how it could escape the drum and land outside to get stuck in a tube where water is pushing in not sucking out.
This was preceded by an obnoxious noise during the spin cycle. When the next rinse cycle started, water just rushed onto the floor from the tray. Next time we will stop it when we hear any noise before it floods the whole laundry.

That happened to us when there was a piece of clothing (in this case a sock) that somehow left the drum and got lodged in the tube that feeds water into the drum. The entering water pours into and through the detergent tray, so when the tube feeding the drum is blocked, you get water pouring out of the detergent tray.
We had a repairperson come out to fix it, and he disassembled the whole thing enough that he could get at that tube and dislodge the sock. The next time it happened, I did the same thing, and managed to get it cleared as well. If you're not comfortable taking apart big chunks of your washer, it's probably smarter to let a qualified repairperson do this repair.

Maytag 5000 series washer leaking.Removed front access panel ,saw water is trickling from dispenser tray area. Pulled dispenser drawer,cleaned/inspected with nothing really standing out as a problem.

Verify that that the hoses from the dispenser tray to the tub are not clogged. Detergents and fabric softeners can build up inside the hoses and cause partial or complete clogs that will cause the dispenser trays to overflow and thus leak. This is a common problem.

SIEMENS XLM 1600 (WXLM166AGB) MACHINE WILL NOT TAKE IN SOFTENER FROM DETERGENT TRAY

If water is being dispensed from both sides of the detergent tray, dismantle washing machine and remove top plate of the detergent tray and clean thoroughly. Water overflows from both sides during the rinse cycle to add softener to the rinse. On our washing machine it was blocked. During the service it was changed but can be washed out to solve problem.

LEAKING DISPENSER DRAWER

Refer to your manual regarding the dispenser tray. You could try using a tooth brush to clean out dry detergent, which could be blocking the flow of water. You can take out tray to clean, ref manual.

Water leaking

There is a small plastic "gate" that is left down for liquid detergent and moved back and up for powder detergent. If this piece is left down and powder detergent is used, the water leaks and the detergent won't go into the washer properly.

LG Front Loading Washer overflows at detergent dispenser

you mean where you put the regular HE soap in? That slot is normal to overflow. The water carries the soap down (Lift the little doohickie up, it's removable for powder deterg.), and it carries it all the way to the tub...Unless i don't get it...but I'm reading the phrase "Its like the water will not go down to the tub.", and it makes me think the whole tray is overfilling with water..if this is the case, I can't help you, but filling over of the Main HE Soap tray is normal. (Just a little, if the whole thing starts filling uncontrollably, hit the power button.)
