Have considered the timer control, but wondered about temperature sensitivity.

Has AccuTemp, but timer runs and tub fills when temp is set on Hot or Warm, not on Warm or Cold.

Cold water line is clear, but won't run into tub. Can hear it switching over when manipulating the temp knob, but only fills hot or warm.

Not even close. Problem was a cold water solenoid. $52 part. So a $52 repair cost me $225.

One brand new $173 timer control, same problem. Back to my second question, what does the temperature control work off of? What in that would cause this lack of operation?

The timer control unit is defective and might need a replacement. Unless you are going to manage with the manual mode this control unit has to be replaced. Therre can be no repair if the contacts are not functioning as the timer advances.
Now the main issue is the cost and the replacement with all the multiple connections on it. You will have to take great care to see that each wires is removed and put into the correct slot.
Make a note of all the wiring lines inthe contact with the sire colour before you start the job.
Finally the cost of the timer must be estimated. make sure that it is reasonable to do this or manage ffor the time being till a new machine can be thought of.
Just a final word try using a contact cleaner/a good degreaser with power off and manually moving it.

Temperature control for setting the level of water heat, maybe this cycle is through, try to set lowest temp and see if all functions work.

we always think that the inputs be checked and confirmed before the main controller becomes the suspect, just the voltage on the solenoid and find it not working.

I load washer it starts the wash cycle it goes through wash cycle fine drains water but does not collect water for rinse cycle it just idles. So I turn knob to spin and it spins until done.

If it doesn't fill for the rinse, I would say that the cold inlet valve has failed. Check that the cold tap is turned on and check when the machine fills for the wash cycle and see if it is taking hot or cold water. You will probably find that it is filling only with hot water. A local spares store should have the valve you need.

I have a whirlpool ultimate care II washer. It stopped in the middle of a load, full of water, and now it won't do anything. It won't drain, fill, move, or make any noises.

You will need to check the capacitor on the machine. It can be tested with a capacitance meter the easiest. It can be tested with a resistance meter, but this will tell you if the capacitor is shorted or open. It will not tell you the capacitive value if the component has drifted out of tolerance. You put the meter across the terminals and watch the display for counting up to infinity. This will occur quickly and disappear very quickly. Now reverse the leads on the terminals, (reverse the polarity). The same thing should happen, but a bit more pronounced. It will once again rise very quickly and go to an infinite reading. This tells you that the capacitor isn't shorted or open internally. Here is the capacitor to order if you should find it bad.

On rinse cycle...cannot control water temperature...set it for warm but still feels cold to touch. wash cycle is ok. model is whirlpool gold ultimate care II..top loader.

Is the hot water turned on. Remove hose from washer and check screen in water inlet. If it is clear you may need a new water inlet valve.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II keeps taking water.

ck your drain nose/drainline, chances are you have along hose, perhaps even draining along the floor behind hte unit, into a "closed" drain system. in which cawee the wwater is syphoning out during the rinse cycle, youlll needt o raise the drain hose to above 48" and have it drain into a stand pipe to prevent siphoning effect
