You don't mention any error codes displayed. If this is the case I would start with a new main PCB. It should try and light for approx. 10 seconds and then go to lockout with an error code 11 if it was a gas supply issue. This is all controlled by the PCB hence my opinion on a PCB fault.

What exactly is a PCB? I see it in the manual but it looks more like a cover

Sorry. Printed Circuit Board. It's the electronic brain!

I would try checking the igniter fist to see if it needs to be cleaned and that is in place with gas flow.
I would also check continuity on the gas vale.
Before you ever change a board check for the 24 voluted to and from the transformer.
It might even as simple as the gas **** was turned off or you need to clean the filters before the overheat switch kicks in.
Just don't assume it's the worst when it could be the obvious.

I have the same model as above and the same problem as well. It ignites but does not continue to spark. No error codes displayed. What should I do? How do you change PCB setting?

Hi, I have Osaka Gas Heater model 43-540.

A natural gas heater can only burn natural and vice versa unless there are changes such as orifice and regulator. They can easily be converted to use either fuel, but you have to know what fuel supply you have, and what the appliance is set up for. Since you've already tried LPG, if it turns out the appliance is natural gas, then replace the spud (burner nozzle) before trying to operate it again. LPG cannot pass through the small nozzle hole in a natural gas appliance.

Rinnai granada MKII

The conversion requires new jets in the unit and readjustment of the air /gas ratio shields. Use a qualified gas specialist for the conversion .

Hi, my patio heater, (large stand up type) has been acting up recently. When it's below 40 degrees the regulator seems to freeze up and the burner slowly goes out. I usually have the tank valve op

Well if this is a LPG heater then at -40 its too cold for the gas to work

the lpg has to to a gas form to burn, too cold and it will not work A heat pad fitted on the tank would help it work , don't know where you would get one as i have only seen them on large lpg tanks .

I have a rinnai LPG 6 burner gas heater, it starts fine but wont ignite the middle left burner. It has a blue flame over the top that occasionally radiates down the burner. All the other 5 burners work...

sounds like the injector hole is too largefor that burner have you had it converted reciently
lpg injectors are only half the size hole of natural gas injector, could have a blockage in the injector diverting the gas flow

Does not want to start

Intermittent faults on these units are very very rare; they either work or they dont! Ive had similar reports that ended up being more of a gas regulator fault (thats the hunk of metal that the small copper tubes from the cylinders are connected to). Do you have any other applainces on gas. When the heater doesnt work try the others'; if they work keep thenm going and then go back and try the heater. Does the heater try and ignite? I also like to recomend getting these heaters serviced occasionally. Just like cars, intermittent faults can be a reminder to get a good service done.

What is required to convert an LPG Rinnai 1001 to natural gas

Its complicated to convert. Get a qualified gasfitter to do it. The part number to convert LPG to Nat Gas is R1911 (at least it is here in New Zealand)
