Kodak C160 camera says internal memory full. How do I correct it so it will take a pic? Have tried new memory card.

You need to get rid of the pics in the internal memory. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert the new card and do the format thing again to erase and initialize the card. Everything should work properly now.

I took the pictures off my Kodak C160 camera and now it says I need to formate the memory card. When i say ok it does nothing. Can you help ?

I've just gone over the PDF manual for your camera and there is no where it mentions to use the arrow key to select format BUT, I fully expect you are missing the last step before pressing the ok button. When you get to the format menu screen you may need to highlight format or OK with an arrow key once highlighted press the okay button and a dissolve screen should appear momentarily then go to the main menu and ready to take pictures again.

Here is the link I used to a PDF manual for your camera just in case you don't have one.

I am trying to take pictures with my Kodak Easy Share C160. Everything was fine until a message saying "internal memory is full" came on. I have a memory card and have emptied (I thought) the...

When the memory card is in the camera, you see the card contents, not the internal memory. Take the card out, then delete all the photos you can find. The camera needs space on the internal memory to work, even if the memory card is empty.

Tried two memory cards, keep saying memory cards not usable

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". Some include trying to use of a 4GB SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Others include problems with the switch on the side of the card, or the switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

I have instersted a memory card for my kodak c160 digital camera but the camera tells me I have to format it. I go through the steps but keeps taking me back to the original screen where it asks me to...

#1 Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from or
# 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
# 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
# 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
# 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
# 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

Hi I just purchased a new memory card for my Kodak C160 CAMERA AND when I took pic's for E-Bay and it says that the card has to be formated. What does that mean and how do I make it work? Thanks in...

Formatting erases the card and optimizes it for a particular camera system. If you already have pics on the card, you need to download them using a card reader first. Then, insert the card into the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Kodakeasyshare c160 says memory card full with only 5 pics on a 16G card. Any ideas?

Pull the pictures off the card then plug it into the computer if you have a SD card port. Then go into my computer and find the card icon. right click on the card and pick properties. Verify that the card is showing as a 16GB card and how much available memory is available on the card. It should show 16GB. If the card does not try and run a format on the card and see if that fixes it. Five pictures on the highest resoloution on your camera should not fill up a 16GB card. There might be files stored on the card causing the issue or the card might be defective.
