Hi,

First check with a Multimeter if your speakers are working

How to use a multimeter

You can use two ( 2 ) 1.5V battery from remote , if

you do not have one yet.

You can hear a crackling sound once it is

momentarily connected.

Even when there is a display on the front panel,

It doesn't necessarily mean that all your system

are working.

( More if it doesn't have )

Some have headphones, you might try checking it out.

If all the above fails,

One has to open the unit, and check:

Be noted that are still voltages left on the big

capacitors, even though it is already unplugged

from the wall outlet.

But you can use a 4.7K 5W Resistor to speed up

troubleshooting , in short to bleed the capacitors.

Check for low voltage regulators,

It could be bad or have poor or cold solder joints.

You might need a magnifying glass to see the circuit

paths on the components

You also need a good soldering iron and a good

soldering lead.

Check also the supply on the Main Amplifier,

It could be having none , due to possible shorted

components , or low

If there are Voltage supply and the output stage

( the one that goes out to the speakers ) have

more than 0.7V then, Sound will not reach

your good speakers , it will just be disconnected

from the relay ( if yours have one, but most do ).

If for instance , you have good amps.

And still having problem , here is your

additional guide:

here is a link from our very own Fixya Tips, :

http://www.fixya.com/support/r4008719-diagnose_not_having_audio_right_channel

these may not be the same as yours,

but the principle in troubleshooting is the same.

Hope these answers your problem.

It may take a while ( troubleshooting )

But I hope for your success.

Good luck

PLEASE CAN YOU TELL ME IF THE AIWA px e10 TURNTABLE HAS A BUILT IN PRE AMP

The Aiwa PX-E860EZ does. I couldn't find anything on the PXE10 though. Plugging it into a tape or aux or CD socket on an amp will soon confirm it. The sound (if it has one) will be normal. If it hasn't it will be very low, but hearable.

The surround sound isn't working. We never tried to use it with an HDTV until recently and can't get it to work. Do we need a SPECIAL cable? Any suggestions?

If you think about it, you don't even NEED a TV to access surround sound unless the TV is tuning the stations off the air and then only if it HAS facilities to export the audio. If you really get TV programming from a Cable or SAT Box THEY are legitimate high-end digital audio sources.

After considering all that THIS product has no facility to accept a true digital signal from anything external anyway. It only accepts 2-channel analog audio. The best you could hope for from the TV or Cable Box is stereo audio. Page 27. Of course, once that is conencted you COULD play around with the various DSP modes. "Surround" is not an option from the two speakers included nor does the electronics support multichannel.

I have a nsx-a508 unit, the 2nd tape deck got stuck i was able to open it but now neither deck plays and the cd player did work when this happened originally but does not work now ,the lights all come...

I think I can help you with the tape part, but as for the CD, that's a whole different story.

First, you should reset the unit by holding down the stop button (clear), and then pressing the power button. Everything stored in memory after purchase is cleared, including the radio stations, clock, etc.

Check if deck 1 is now playing.

I had a similar problem with my AIWA NSX-AJ310, and after some digging up, I realised that the belts were busted. They're not hard to replace though, unless you don't trust yourself to replace them. If you don't, let a qualified technician see about that for you.

The CD player in my system has retired also, so, we're in the same boat as with regard to that issue!!

Hope my solution was helpful!!

It is really a memory problem try to access its service mode open the cover of its remote control so you can find an extra carbon switch inside which is not accessible if the remote control's cover is on.Another way is you can use an eeprom copier copy a known good aiwa ctv with the same model or parameters
