Fujits s6510 UE (3.5G model) Running Fujitsu Windows XP installed from Recover y disks BEen working FINE for a week All of a sudden, the built in HSDPA modem decides to not work anymore. It initilises, then goes "searching" for something, and never comes back to allow connection. It seems to be a "hard" error as I have re-installed the 3.5G Watcher software, I have changed SIM cards and the problem stays the same I have run the Fujitsu diagnostics but unless the HSDPA is connected, it will does not seem to run a test

    Thanks Ekse...

The machine I have , the S6510 UE, has an IINTEGRATED modem ... I can get removable HSDPA modems to work on the machine but the whole point of the S6510 is that the sim card goes into a slot behind the battery - no removable modem, no dongle - nothing to take out and try in another computer.. it may be that the BUILT IN modem is faulty (?)

Is it possible that one of the routine Windows updates that are done via web could have affected the driver for the integrated 3.5 G 3.5 G watcher

  • ozheadhunter May 17, 2008

Thank you everyone, I appreciate your assistance but I do not consider that I have had ANY expert assistance in any of the response
    - All of the responders comments are appreciated, please understand that

HOWEVER - SO FAR, what I consider to be an EXPERT is an individual who actually has knowledge and experience with the actual machine and the device concerned. I have not had any comments or input from such an "EXPERT"

I have enough "knowledge" to have made all the suggestions that have been received so far.. they are all pretty much - it could be this or it could be that .. try this or try that ... that is NOT in my opinion EXPERT advice.

To me expert advice is... I have worked on this machine .. the device concerned .... the way I have fixed it in the past is ...

Thank you again to all the posters, please take my feedback in the constructive spirit that it is intended

I want to know if anyone out there has first hand knowledge and experience of the FUJITSU LIFEBOOK S6510 UE with so called 3.5 G modem BUILT IN.

It has stopped working after a week - does anyone out there actually REALLY know anything about THIS DEVICE, in this laptop - I am not after conjecture or what it MIGHT be or what might fix it - just if anyone actually has had any experience with this notebook

Hi,

Since it is an inbuilt modem so it is not possible to test it on another PC.I believe that you have as internal problem and it would be better to get it serviced. However did you try a system restore?

First take a backup and then do a system restore. This will restore your pc/laptop to an earlier stage. So if there is any small error or a software issue causing the problem it will be fixed.

Make sure you take a backup bcuz once you restore all the data will be erased

  • Priya darshan May 17, 2008

Yeah and thats why i told you to go for a system restore..You see these updates contains bugs some time which cause these sort of trouble.

    Goodluck..

if the modem works in another pc uninstall the device, its drivers and software and then reinstall again.

  • Ekse May 17, 2008

Yes it may be, I beleave this is a MINI PCI adapter? removeable by the user so you could have it replaced / repaired by warranty very easyly.

  • Ekse May 17, 2008

well the modem can be replaced by a tech in less than 30minutes if its not integrated to the motherboard and I beleave its a separate module.

  • Ekse May 17, 2008

Oh im not sure its Embedded 3.5G

  • Ekse May 17, 2008

I suppose you could also try to restore everything again.

  • Ekse May 17, 2008

In that case I would suggest agains doing system restore and just uninstalling the device and then makeing sure you install the original drivers for it.

In my personal experience with system restore over the years.. it has caused more problems than it has solved, maybe you get lucky.

  • Ekse May 17, 2008

Your very unlikely to get a expert with first hand experience with your spesific model & problem here. as its very new technology.

I need a recovery disc for a Fujitsu-Siemens Scaleo 600 desktop PC

I wouldn't worry that you won't get it running without a Recovery Disk.
Just wanted to state that right off the bat.

You can buy a fresh, new Genuine copy of Windows XP, and use it.

Jus sayin'.

[Microsoft makes one Master disk. From it all GENUINE copies are made, and sold to the consumer]

Don't know that much about Fujitsu Support, as to obtaining the Restoration Disk, for THAT computer.
Guess there's only one way to find out, huh?

That apparently would be to choose THE country you are in, as support is country specific.
Looking at this from a USA perspective,

http://www.fujitsu.com/us/contact/

Call 1-888-385-4878

Have to try that tomorrow. It's presently 9:52PM, lol!

No wait! Hold the phone.............

Just called 1-888-385-4878
It's a 24 hour line.
Just talked to the representative on the phone.

I didn't have the Serial Number, naturally; but did get basic information.
The Serial Number is needed for specific information.

[NOTE* Do NOT give out the Serial Number on a worldwide forum.
ONLY give to an authorized Fujitsu representative ]

From what I understand it does depend on the disk you need, and the type of computer..
IF, I understand correctly, the disk (DVD) is $12, plus the shipping and handling.
Sounded like the maximum cost is $28. (USD)

Indicated a 2 to 3 day ship, and sent by Fed Ex.

Best method of course is to just call them yourself.

If I may, would appreciate hearing about how it was, for you to obtain the disk.
Will increase my knowledge.

[A LOT cheaper than a fresh, new Genuine copy of Windows XP, too!
Lol! ]

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

Absolutely, you want get out of this situation without formatting and re-installing the operating system? Part 1: Select Windows XP administrator password recovery tool

As you can't login Windows XP operating system, the only thing you can do is making a Windows password recovery disk and using the disk to recover your Windows password, and then you need:

1> a blank CD disk.
2> a computer that can download from Internet and have a CD writer.
3> a program that can recover Windows password. In this tutorial we highly recommended Windows Login Recovery and use it as an example.

Part 2: Recover the forgotten Windows XP administrator password

Step 1. Download Windows Login Recovery from the official website.

Step 2. Install Windows Login Recovery on your Windows XP computer, then launch it (When launch the program, you will see the ISO image file has automatically entered. Please leave it as the default).

Step 3. Choose a device to burn the ISO image file, we select the CD writer.

Step 4. Click Burn and then start to burn the ISO image file (Please insert the blank CD disk into the CD writer first). When the burning completes, click OK and the disk will eject itself.

Step 5. Change your locked computer's BIOS settings to make it boot from CD-ROM: (3 steps)

1). Reboot your locked computer, press F2 or Delete to enter your BIOS setup during the booting.

2). On the Boot tab, set the Boot Device Priority. Make sure the CDROM Drives is before Hard Disk Drives.

3). Press F10 and Y followed by Enter to save the BIOS settings and reboot your locked computer.

Step 6. Use the created disk to recover the Windows XP administrator password: (5 steps)

1). Insert the created disk into the CD-ROM of the locked computer and reboot it (When the locked computer boots, you can see Windows Login Recovery initializing).

2). Enter the ID number of the hard drive volume that Windows is installed.

3). Enter the ID number for the User Name.

4). Enter y (yes) to confirm your action or n (no) to deny the action, then hit Enter.

5). Enter y to continue to remove passwords of other accounts or n to finish (If you enter n, the locked computer will reboot, please eject the created disk first).

Congratulations! You have successfully removed the Windows XP administrator password. Now you can login Windows XP without password and you can create a new one.

I cannot get rid of pceu virus on a windows xp pro fujitsu desktop because it has disabled safe mode and I do not have the windows xp cd to reinstall windows and the cd/dvd drive does not work .

Download the SP3 installation ISO. Save it to your Desktop. Download ImgBurn and save it to your Desktop. Double-click the installation executable for ImgBurn and click "Next." Follow the remaining onscreen prompts and click "Finish" to complete installation of ImgBurn. Insert a blank CD-R/DVD-R into your DVD drive. Open ImgBurn by going to "Start," "Programs" and "ImgBurn." Click "File," then "Browse for a source file." Navigate to your Desktop and select the SP3 ISO file. Click "Open." Click the blue "ISO to CD" button located on the bottom left of ImgBurn. The program will begin creating the Windows XP SP3 installation CD. This process may take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes to complete depending on the speed at which the CD-R/DVD-R is being burned. Click "OK" once the CD-R/DVD-R has finished burning. You've successfully created a Windows XP SP3 installation CD.

How do i reset my windows xp password if i have forgotten it

Forgot Windows XP password? The first thing which you check is whether you forgot windows xp login password or not. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank. So if you have forgot your user account password then try this:
Start system and when you See Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys Twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.
Windows XP and further versions also provide another method to recover forgotten Password by using "Reset Disk". If you created a Password Reset Disk in past, you can use that disk to reset the password. Or try free program called Ophcrack or Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0.

I have a e machine model 633ID tower running windows xp o.s. I installed a used harddrive that works fine have pc up and running after installing windows updates on restart screen flashed disassembly...

it sounds liek hyou corrupted the windows build. did you follow the instruction and rebooted when each update wanted you to? sometimes if you get out of order by not booting when you are supposed to this kind of thing happens. Try rebuilding your windows with a repair installation of the OS. that will probably work. If not you will have to reinstall from scratch with your OEM disks that you built when you bought teh machine.
Thanks!

Computer says disk boot fail

If you have not changed any settings in the bios, then you may have a bad hard drive.

Did you just install a new hard drive? If so, you will need to install the OS, which means you will need a Microsoft Windows Install CD. If you have not, and the computer has previously been running fine, with no hardware changes or bios changes, then your hard drive probably failed. You can run a windows boot disk, and at a command prompt type:

chkdsk c: /f /r

You may want to try booting form the windows XP (assuming thats what your running) install cd, and try to run a repair. If that fails, you may want to run the above command.

If all else fails, you will need a new hard driver, and then try to recover data off of your old hard drive.

Hello, i have a Fujitsu Siemens Celsius R610 PC. I wiped the hard drive and trying to load a fresh MS Windows XP Prof on but it won't let me. Its saying it can't load or see the HD. any thoughts.

In order to fully install windows you need to have the driver loaded for your SCSI controller built into the mother board. Here: http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/com/support/downloads.html is the website to get the SCSI drivers. Just make a floppy disk with them and when you load windows setup from the disk when it asks you to press F6 to install third party drivers do so. Then just point to the disk and load them up. When windows finishes loading the rest of the drivers and starts the setup process your hard disks should now be accessible.

I have a gateway lb3 500 ancient 98se i tried to load xp pro and it crashed i cant seem to even get a 98 startup disk to work to recover it . how can i recover it to load the xp pro onit

Try running linux on it. Linux will run much better on older hardware. Depending an the specs of the system, it may not be able to handle running windows. Try ubuntu (www.ubuntu.com). If it used to run Windows XP or 98 and it wont now, try checking the hard drive. It may be corrupt. You can find hard drive check tools all across the web, google for drive fitness test by hitachi, it works great. Burn to a disk and boot to it on the older machine and do a full advanced test on the drive.
