Question about Sears Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Wireless Keypad Model 976LM Security+

I had to replace the 9 volt battery and now the keypad doesn't work. The remotes do work. Do I have to reprogram a new 4 digit number?

Shouldn't have to reprogram just for a battery change but you can try it anyway.Was there a problem that caused you to replace the battery?

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of your motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to the keypad and key in your 4 digit code and press enter.

How do I reprogram Sears Craftsman 031D0359 Rev C Pwr 1 keypad? I first replaced the battery and then followed the suggested steps I found on FixYa. I pressed the green button on the operator which lit up...


Make sure the battery is good. When you press the button on the rear of the opener, just press and immediately release. Then enter your 4 digit code and press enter. If this is what you have done then your keypad must be bad.

There's a wealth of info under that heading. You will be able to see a PDF file of the original print instructions, as well as a video of how to install the lock. This is useful because there should be a sticker to be found on the backside of the keypad, with the code number that you need to reprogram the lock. This installation video (second item down) will be useful to allow you to disassemble it and view the sticker. This is also a great time to change the 9-volt battery!
The seventh item under that same header is a video which walks you through how to reprogram the keypad to your new code, using that programming code that you found on the backside of the keypad.

A note about the PDF files: If you cannot view a given file, you need to first install Adobe reader. You can get the free download from here:

Uhf pro fcc id DKNFSK01 MY REMOTE WILL NOT WORK AT ALL I'VE PUT NEW BATTERIES IN IT AND IT LIGHTS UP BUT WILL NOT WORK THE RECIEVER AT ALL ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT THAT YOU

It sounds like the remote needs to be addressed to the receiver.

I have provided the steps below to assist you with that, you can also check out this link: http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/remote-setup

Addressing Remote to Receiver:

1.) Go to System Info screen.
2.) Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3.) Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
4.) Press the pound (#) button.
5.) Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
6.) Test remote and see if works.

If you reprogram it and it still doesn't work the remote may need to be replaced. If that's the case or if you have any other questions let me know!

The lock quit working (no lights on keypad) I installed a new battery but it still doesnt' work. The keypad doesn't light, like it is not getting any power. I checked all the connections?

We reprogramed our remotes and now our keyless entry pad will not work...we pressed the smart button and keyed in a new 4 digit number and it doesn't do anything.


Try it this way.

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to the keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter.
