Question about Pioneer Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a Pioneer DVR-111 D or DBK or DSV on my PC tower and it's been there for about 2 years. I also had a Sony Burner on the same tower so I could burn from 1 DVD to another. The Sony went out so I bought a portable Pioneer DVR-X09. When I plug in the portable burner the computer only recognizes that one; when I unplug it there is no recognition whatsoever of the D or E drives. I can't figure out what happened to the original Pioneer player on my computer (where it disappeared to) and how to use both drives again.

First make sure that your dvd drive has power. to test just press the eject button. go to device manager, find dvd/cd-rom drives there and expand it. If the pioneer dvr is present and has an exclamation point then just reinstall the driver for that drive. if not there then check in the bios if its there, just got to system information in your bios. If not there then open your tower and unplug and replug the cable connecting your drive to te motherboard. then check again.

Hi, as your LG GSA-H42N CD/DVD had an IDE interface you need a drive with the same type of interface .I had to replace my internal drive after years of use.As it was a Pioneer brand with an IDE interface I replaced it with a Pioneer DVR-A 18 L which cost £17.99.from Amazon.co.uk and that included free postage.

WHERE DO I PUT THE SLAVE LINK PLUG

looking at the label on the top of the drive, jumper settings should be displayed on the bottom left along with a diagram on IDE position and relevance to power plug, or, looking at the back of the unit, it will be the second pair of pins in from the right (side furthest from the power plug)

see how you go
