Uninstall & reinstall drivers for dell 926 phoo alll in one
I'm a 41 year old c-5 quad, I'm not to knowledgeable aboub computers.I keep on calling tech support about differen issues but i keep on getting the run around j mean if your such a big company you should be able to fix anything right on the spot. Insted of giving me different #'s tranferring me to other depts. Anyway i would like hanllle this issue a differen way. i can be reached @ 973-845-2572 or firstname.lastname@example.org

Its unfortunate that you did not get any support from Dell technical support. Do get yourself heard by posting your experience at www.direct2dell.com. Coming back to your problem with printer , what is your concern? if its fixable ,we would fix it.

Hi, if you have the users manual (given that it has worked properly in the past) my suggestion would be to disconnect the printer from the computer/uninstall the current software/then with your manual in hand follow the guidance PRECISELY to reinstall the printer. If you do not have the manual it can be obtained (free) from the Dell site. Just before doing the uninstall/reinstall if you haven't already done so you might go to the Dell download site and install the latest drivers for the printer from there. You might have to uninstall the printer restart your computer then reinstall your printer click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to ports(COM&LPT) + to expand you should see a communication port and Ecp printer port you might see a yellow? ! question exclamation mark or a red X this will mean you need to install a new driver for this device right click you will have options to update driver,disable,uninstall or select properties again you will have the similiar options also you can troubleshoot the device hope this helps you
1.Check if the firewall is blocking any printer services
2.Check what port the printer is using (reenable the bi-directional support) and if it's on online mode
3.Disable all the firewalls
4.Uninstall the printer driver and software

First connect your printer to computer then your printer is found as new hardware then click on no at this time then select install driver manually then next then click on show all devices then browse and locate your driver folder.then next.
Also you can update driver in devicemanager for that right click on my computer then click on property then hardware ->device manager
then select your unknow device printer and right click on it then updste driver then browse abd lacate your driver folder.
Try removing your 926 icon in Printers and Faxes, disconnect the USB cable, restart your computer, reconnect the USB cable, see the 926 and install the driver again. If scan has never worked, you probably need a different driver.
Found on another forum. For 926 this worked great.
1. Go to Control Panel - Printers : Delete 926 printer
2. Go to Control Panel - Programs and Features : Uninstall All Dell 926 related software. There should be 3 programs. (When prompted to restart, respond to wait.
3. Rename Folder C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SPOOL\DRIVERS\W32x86 to W32X86OLD
4. Now restart your computer
5. Reinstall 926 Software.
This worked terrific for me.
1)right click the my computer icon 2)click properties and then click hardware n go to device manager. 3)uninstall all usb ports and then scan for hardware changes 4)ur pc will detect your printer and ask for printer drivers 5)re load drivers and your pc will communicate with your printer 6)for reloding install the cd follow the instructions on the screen and click next 7)restart when the printer is loded.connect the wires and cords properly.

***Did you uninstall the first 926 driver before you did anything else. You must uninstall the first driver and install the driver for the second 926 printer.******
