Question about Hitachi 51SWX20B 51" Rear Projection Television
I thnk I posted this in the wrong place.
Thank you again for your assistance... It is frustrating for me to ask questions, I know your time is valuable. But the simple troubleshooting you described is not simple to a PC Tech like myself. Here goes... How do I check the standby voltages? I have a voltmeter I use when troubleshooting PC's. I just do not know what the readings should be or where to probe on the TV mobo. Also, what should the readings be when correct or incorrect? Are there any articles at FixYa that I can read for a better understanding of the troubleshooting process? I have searched and searched this site and others but cannot find much of anything that describe how to troubleshoot. If I need to sign up for premium service to compensate you I can do that too. Let me know how I can help you. At this point It sure would be great to push the button and have the TV back. I have no problem paying a Pro to fix it at this point because I just want it working again but, It sure would be a great feeling to know I did it with the help of people like yourself and the internet.
Thank you very much again,
P.S. If you ever need any computer help just email me.
I would suggest going to the following link if you dont have the service manual as they have the service manual for your set which they email after purchase and then they will provide free tech support with instant messageing that will help you check the proper voltages in the proper way. The manuals are very inexspensive and the tech support is free and its not limitted in any way. They go the distance to help you get the set operating agin.Heres the link check them out.
