Panasonic ct-27g24a loss vertical. I replace c451 c455 c459 and vertical IC. It had a LA7838 and I replaced it with NTE 7039. I still have no vertical deflection. I am getting horizontal because my crt is lighting in the neck. What else and where else do I look?

Hi,
Both ICs are compatible, make sure vertical output IC is getting volts to operate, pin-1 should have 12V and pin-8 and pin-13 should have approx 24V
Click HERE to download sample schematics of LA7838 that will help you. Do you have schematics of CT-27G24A
Thanks.

Pin 8 and 13 had 0 volts. I started tracing back and D561 was shorted. I still had ac there also about 170 vac. Will this damage my vertical ic?

Sorry, it just kept sending. I had to log off and back on.

    Its ok for multiple posts.
If D561 is shorted, replace it to get DC volts and multimeter usually wont measure AC Volts correctly near flyback area because of its high frequency so I don't think vertical output IC is damaged yet.
Once IC got DC Volts, hope it will function properly.

Horizontal lines across TV screen Pansonic CT 35g25

Check its vertical output section circuit for any component damage or loose soldering terminals. Check the solder terminals of the vertical output IC. Resolder all the suspected solder terminals by applying al little more fresh solder, without making any solder bridge short in between adjacent solder terminals.
If this do not help you, replace the vertical output IC. Lose of Vertical Scan is the problem of your TV.

1999 Panasonic CT-3269SW No picture; just a colorful horizontal line through the center of the screen... tilting & tapping used to pop the picture back. No longer responds to this method; just stuck...

Sir the problem of your unit is the thermal intermittent caused by cold solder or dry joints in the solder part of your unit specially the vertical section of your tv.

It is much better if you use a magnifying glass to determine the cold solder joint or dry joints. To fix this just resolder this cold solder using a soldering iron, soldering lead, desoldering pump, Note be sure not to connect separated pin if accidentally connected may caused much damage to the unit hope this help good day and best regards.

Our tv, a Panasonic # CT-36D11E/CT-36D11 only shows a horizontal thin line across the screen. The sound is fine - any ideas? Is it time to replace or could it be repaired cheaply?

Resolder the vertical IC and replace those capacitors near and next to your vertical IC. If the horizontal line still appears, you may have to replace the IC. Thanks for asking and be caredful!

Hi Expert, I have the CT-27G13 and it has the thin horizontal line of light running across it. Can you tell me how to fix it?

This is an easy repair if you've ever soldered and would not be too costly for a repair shop to do it for you. The problem is a bad Vertical Output IC (usually mounted on an aluminum heat sink with the part on it labeled LA78?? ) and 1 or 2 bad capacitors. Some times you can even fix the problem by re-soldering the contacts of the IC- To find the IC follow the 4 wires that come from the Yoke (which is a contained coil of wires slipped over the neck of the picture tube(s)) back to the board. 2 of the wires go to the horizontal o/p and 2 to the Vertical o/p the thinner gauge wires are for the vertical. Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!
In this case the vetical o/p IC is LA7838 and the IC is located at the right front corner of the PCB (main)the 2 capacitors are- 100uf 35V and 220uf 25V.

Ct 27sl14 has all 4 corners dark and the whole picture is rounded looking

there are 3 caps i round that could cause this.

C455 100mf/35 volt
C816 100mf/50 volt
the first 2 are in the vertical circuit, last one in the power supply.
