Question about Karcher 2500 PSI Pressure Washer

1 Answer

Karcher 2400R I have not used my pressure washer for 6 months. It was left full of gas in the garage. I tried to start it but it would not fire up so I change the gas, oil, and spark plug, took apart the carburator and cleaned it out with carb cleaner. I went ahead and put everything together, pull the cord and wanted to start. While trying to start it after I sprayed starting fluid in the air cleaner I noticed that gas was coming back from the crankcase breather hose into the air filter choking or flooding the carb. When I removed the crankcase hose it started right up and stay running unitl I tried to connect the hose again. While it ran there was gas spitting out of this hose. Can someone help me out to figure what is wrong?

I have a Karcher 2400 PSI hona engine, G2500. Mine hasn't been cranked for over a year. I emptied the gas tank, and changed the spark plug. It has plenty of oil, no leaks. It won't crank. I used the starter fluid, and sprayed into the carb, it starts for about a second or two then stalls. You can see the throttle open to pull gas, but it almost seems as if the gas isn't reaching the engine.

I have the Karcher G2500VH and have never used it and it sat in my garage for over a year and now when I put gas in it and tried to start it... NOTHING! It doesn't seem like it wants to turn over at all. I checked the spark plug, oil, gas, tire pressure (LOL), choke, etc. All seems ready to run, but I get no start. I did drain the carburetor bowl, but that didn't help any. :-(

Mine is the same. Tried looking at the fly wheel and spark plug connection, no rust. Didn't work for me.

You have a poor signal to the spark plug usually caused by a rusty fly wheel found underneath the pullcord casing. clean it with releasing ajent such as wd 40. common when not in use for a while.

Karch k591. it stops and starts on full pressure - is worth repairing?

not really. It sounds like either a motor or unloader problem I work on washers full time and in my honest opinion these electric washers and a ripoff. You cant work on them as they dont even use industry standard parts. I would invest in a gas engine washer for small homeowner needs. If you must use an electric one, stay away from the ones at Walmart/homedepot etc. check out pressurepro com They can give you better options. Good luck

Karcher 3600 gx390 backfires

Usually this (back-fire/after-fire) happens because of a dirty carburetor, or bad gas. Gas can go bad with age or it can be bad because of water from condensate. I'm not familiar with this particular engine, but if it more than 1 spark plug, a fouled-out plug can also be the culprit. If you clean your carburetor, I suggest just using a bit of gas to soak it and brush it etc. That carburetor cleaner is rough stuff and it will burn you badly. I don't use it unless I've got a stubborn one. Hope this helps.

My karcher pressure washer g 2650 oh wont start

Will it start if you pour a small amount of gas in the carb? If so your carb needs to be removed and cleaned.

My Karcher pulses when on standby, stops when i use the trigger, but it also seems to have lost pressure. Is less than 6 months old but have lost receipt!

Is there a leak from the bottom ?
If so Problem, the leak is from the seam of the Manifold housing. There is a small crack in the seam. A design weakness.. A New Manifold Complete Replacement approx. $61.03.
If not you may replace the Pump Manifold Housing from Karcher, or locate a local Karcher Service Center.
If under 1 year old, and you can find a receipt,Karcher will replace the entire Pressure Washer under warranty.

It looks like gas getting into the crankcase oil,

I would completely empty the oil out, add the proper amount and see if the problem re-occurs. It is pretty hard for gas to get into the oil reservoir unless someone did it for you.

the problem may be the oil. if the oil is fine then try crimping your hose to let less water pressure through. if that still does not work lowes or home depot will fix the problem cheap. thank you for using fixya

I squeeze the trigger, I have pressure for 2-3 seconds and the engine dies.

your pump is probably cavatating. when you first hook it up and turn hose on open thr trigger and let water run thru until it quits spitting and flows smooth. then crank it up and see if this gets it done. if not you could have a problem with the pressure valve bolted on the outside of pump. there should be a nut shaped stem to adjust pressure . turn it in and see what happens.
