SOURCE: blinking light

The blinking light indicates a failure of the print job which can occur for a couple of reasons.
1. empty ink cartridge. Ig you take it to a local walgreens they will perform a test for you free of charge.
2. Go to control panel, then printers, then click on the printer you have installed. check for print jobs pending and delete all of them,
4. Right click on the same icon and go to properties, there you will find a maintanence area look for a troubleshooting area and follow the procedures.Let me know how it turns out..Be mucho blessed..Mark

SOURCE: Canon Pixma iP2000: yellow power light blinks-reset doesn't work

Normal 0 Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

SOURCE: Canon i470D Printer will not work. Yellow light

1. Turn off the printer ( "Power" button).

2. Hold the button "Resume", include printer (click "Power").

3. Hold the "Power" button, release the button "Resume" (power indicator / preparedness must turns green)

4. Not releasing the "Power" button, double click "Resume" and release both buttons
-- each time you click "Resume" power indicator / willingness to change color (one-click - yellow, the second hitting - green). U printers with more than one indicator - indication switches (power indicator / preparedness - green indicator error - yellow)
-- after the buttons are released, power indicator / preparedness will be for some time to blink green (Stamford time depends on the printer model), and then the green light permanently
-- If after these actions instead of constantly burning green printer continues to display error, or you are mistaken in paragraphs 1-4 (turn off the printer and repeat with paragraph 1), or if additional printer error that must be corrected, or it will not go down to a service mode.

5. Four times click "Resume" (each time you click "Resume" power indicator / willingness to change color, and the printers with more than one indicator - indication switches: the willingness / error).

6. Once you click "Power" to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). To disable the printer "Power" button to click again.
For some printers (for example, iP2000) to switch off clicking "Power" again, that is three in a row.

Try the following steps. I tried it on my MP990 and it worked.
  1. Make sure the printer is turned off.
  2. Press and hold the Resume button (triangle inside a circle).
  3. Whilst it is held down, hold down the Power button. The green led light should come on.
  4. Keep the Power button held down. Release the Resume button and then press it twice. The light should go amber, then green again.
  5. Release the Power button.
  6. Press the Resume button four times and then press the Power button straight after to confirm the selected action (Reset Counter Absorber).
  7. Turn off the printer and then turn it on again

Welcome to Fixya
If this happened recently then try to reset the printer to factory state. Please see procedure below:
1.Connect the Canon PIXMA iX4000 printer to the power cord. ( note : If the automatic power-on function is enabled in the printer, the printer enters the service mode for the first time, but it will never enter the service mode if the printer is turned off by the Power button. This is because the printer remains to be turned on internally if the power is turned off by the Power button. To prevent this, disconnection of the power cord is required before starting the printer in the service mode ) .

2.With the Canon PIXMA iX4000 printer powered off, while pressing the Resume/Cancel button, press and hold the Power button. (note : Don't release the buttons. The Power LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.)

3.While holding the Power button, release Resume/Cancel button. (Don't release the Power button.)

4.While holding the Power button, press Resume/Cancel button 2 times, and then release both the Power and Resume/Cancel buttons.

5.When the Power LED lights in green, press the Resume/Cancel button 4 times to reset waste ink counter in the Canon Pixma iX4000. (note : If the Power LED does not light in green the printer does not enter the service mode, disconnect the power cord and plug it again. Then start from step 1 to start the printer in the service mode again).

6.At the end of the service mode, press the Power button. The paper lifting plate of the sheet feed unit will be raised.
Note :

Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the Alarm and Power LEDs light alternately, Alarm in orange and Power in green, starting with Alarm LED.
Other specified number of time(s) according to the function listed in the table below.

Time(s) LED indication Function Remarks
0 times Green (Power) Power off
1 time Orange (Alarm) Service test print
2 times Green (Power) EEPROM information print
3 times Orange (Alarm) EEPROM initialization
4 times Green (Power) Waste ink counter resetting
5 times Orange (Alarm) Destination settings
6 times Green (Power) Print head deep cleaning (Cleaning of both black and color)

Error 5100

Hello! Try this:
1. Unplug the power cord

2. While pressing the ON button, plug the power cord back in.
The power light should flash an orange/yellow color.
Continue pressing the ON button, and press the RESUME button 4 times. The light changes every time you press it.

3. Release both buttons, and restart the printer.

The printer should now stop blinking and operate as usual.
I hope this works for you. OMS

Canon pixma ip 1500

Hello Surs, Wish I could be more confident of this but I couldn?t find much on this series of printer. You didn?t indicate if there were any LED codes being flashed but this is the only reference I could find involving ?6000? and this model printer. Issue: Power light (or Alarm / Power lights) alternate(s) between orange and green 3 times (6000) ________________________________________ Solution: Reset the printer Follow these steps to reset the printer: 1. Turn the printer off with the Power button (if available). 2. Disconnect the data cable from the printer (not applicable to WiFi, Bluetooth or Infrared) . 3. Unplug the printer's power cord for a few seconds, and then plug it back in. If troubleshooting a communication issue, reconnect the data cable (not applicable to WiFi, Bluetooth or Infrared). 4. Turn the printer back on. I don?t have a service manual for this printer nor was I able to find one anywhere. From poking around the Canon site it appears that there are other error codes than what is published in their manual or web site so it might be worth a call to the help desk. Let us know if you have any more questions or information and don?t forget to rate the post.
