HP Pavilion dv9000 screen lock jamming on the hinge. Is there a key for the nominal padock on the hinge?

I just started getting this problem myself. I'll let you know if I find a solution. For the time being, I'm pinching the joint with my fingers as hard as I can when I open or close it.

Hp pavilion dv9000..forgot password and now its locked up.

If you don't mind starting from scratch again this time forget putting in a password for you login or if you do want a password then wtite it in black texta on the black area of your battery bay with the battery out of course - you can still see it if you angle the bay but its not easly picked up.Then if you forget it again take out the battery and there is your password. Now on power up hit F11 untill you see recovery manger process start - hit the advanced button - select full system restore - no backup - full detructive and your unit will reimage from the recovery partition and be ready to use in approx 75min. Do your power settings after fully into the OS again and look after your laptop.

No user password for hp dv9000

When seeing the log on screen of the user, press
CTRL, ALT and Del a couple of times untill a box appears asking for user name and password.
In user name type: Administrator and leave the password field blank, this should allow you to get on and delete that account.
Hope this helped
