Ipod will not sync

You want to be sure that the computer is recognizing the iPod. Apart from iTunes, when you plug in the iPod to the USB port, it should show up in My Computer as a device. If it does not, try a different cable or different USB port on the computer. Until the iPod is "seen" in Windows, it will not be able to communicate with iTunes.
Hope this helps

I'm trying to sync an apple ipod shuffle 4th generation to my windows xp pc. The famous USB device not recognized thing pops up. What do i need to do so i can use and sync my ipod.

Shutdown Windows.
Turn the computer off.
Unplug the AC power cord.
Reconnect the AC power cord.
Restart the PC.
This will eliminate many "intermittent" problems.

Now, connect some other USB device (mouse? keyboard? memory-stick?) into the USB port, to confirm that the USB port is working, at least for some USB device.

Now, connect the iPod to one of the USB ports.
If it is not recognized, connect the iPod to a different USB port.

This should work.

Help my ipod wont connect to my computer or itunes i bringed it in to get it fixed but when i tried to restore the same thing happened

1. Try another USB cord or USB cable. 2. Restrart your computer for a try.
3. Reset or restore your iPod for a try, this way can fix many general iPod problems. If you don't know how to do that, you may refer to this iPod tips
4. Update your iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
5. You may try this iPod transfer, it's a nice iTunes alternative that can help you upload music and video to iPod, I always use it to sync my iPod when my iTunes can't recognize my iPod, it's easy to use and works pretty well.

Apple Ipod isnt recognized on computer

You can only sync one ipod with one computer so if you put music on it already it will only work with the original computer you synced it with. Same with ANY ipod.
