The drain holes are in the back corners of the pan...and they will plug with get to them you will need to slide the unit out of the chassis if it is that type or pull the whole unit out so you can take the cover off and open the holes...
Then you will be back in business again..

I have a Fedders portable roll around unit that is leaking water all over floor from underneath the unit. it does not look like the drain line is clogged. used to drain through hose but does not anymore....

Hello, Take a clothes hanger wire in the hole a little ways and see if it is stopped up. If that doesn't work get a can of air and blow in the hole.

Why is water leaking from unit

The drain is plugged up. This causes water to overflow out of the drain pan and on to the floor. Water comes from the evaporator coil, when it condenses water vapor out of the air to remove humidity. If the drain is not plugged up, then the air conditioner is not level. Meaning it is tilted forward or backwards enough so that the water cannot reach the drain properly and it overflows onto the floor.

Wall unit is leaking water

Hello, if this is a window unit water will leak for one of two reasons, either a blocked drain or the unit is not tilted back enough in the window.

My air conditioner is leaking water from the front side just below the control panel....what is causing this?

2 things generally cause this.

1. The rear of the unit is not tilted down enough for the water to flow to the drain hole in the drip pan.. 1/4' to 1/2" tilt is the general rule of thumb.

2. The drain hole at the rear of the drip pan is clogged and needs to be cleared. It can be hard to find, as the clog will blend in with the drain. Use a pipe cleaner to clear the clog.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Leaking into house

Be certain that the unit is tilted to the out side and check the drain to make ceratin it is not plugged . You may have to remove the cover off the unit to check the drain.. You might make a weak mix of clorax and wash down the drain when you have it clear

Water coming out of front of unit, thru vents leaking on floor

Darlene, if this is a window or thru the wall unit, the leaking is usually caused by two things:

1. The drain pan under the unit has a drain hole (in the rear outside part of the unit) that is clogged.
2. The AC unit is not tilted down at the rear 1/4" to 1/2", so that water will drain to the outside drain hole.

Be prudent when you look for the drain hole in the drain pan. As the clog can blend in with the drain hole, making it difficult to see.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

Fedders AC leaking water from front, older model was in storage. Cant find the manual to make sure it's installed proper, or see if we need to clean somehting out. It leaks when it's running, then...

The unit needs to be tilted down 1/4/" to 1/2" on the outside of the window. Also check the drain pan's drain hole, under the unit (outside the window) for clogs. Doing all of this should solve the problem.

Water is leaking out front of machine depsite having it tilted so it drains towards pan. How do i fix this?

I'm not an AC expert, but I've had this happen before too. Even though I always kept my filters clean, I still got an accumulation of dust in the water that eventually clogged the drain holes. If the unit is installed, try squirting the drain areas a lot with a squirt bottle set on "stream" setting. If you can easily take the unit out, you could hit the drain areas with a hose (which will work better, but obviously can't be done inside). Good luck.
