Question about Whirlpool LXR6432JQ Top Load Washer

1 Answer

I have a 15 yr old Whirlpool washer that has run great. During a cycle, it stopped full of water. I moved the dial around to different areas pushing it in and out and got a cyle to run long enough to pump out most of the water. Does the main dial switch need replacing?

Not always a Timer issue. could be stopping at the cold fill part of the cycle which is the 8 o clock position on the dial. This would be fault with the cold fill vavle.

6 yr old side by side inglis fridge/freezer. water

can be from an obstruction (i.e. food or debris) or incomplete defrost. water forms around the drain during defrost cycle and ices up when cooling cycle comes on. defrost the drain and try installing a heat probe part#819043 made by whirlpool.its a metal rod that wraps around the heater and goes into the drain opening to prevent the drain from icing up. hope this helps.

Water won't dump

When you replace the pump, always to remember to makes sure the pump is pushed all the way in so that the shaft has a good grip. Try taking it out and pushing it all the way in. The 4 legs should touch the motor, as you put the 2 little clamps on the top and bottom.

Good luck, I'm pretty sure it's something really basic with the pump :)

Washer stopping mid-cycle

Push down on lid. You may have a bad lid switch. Start machine and press the switch down with something like a screwdriver and see if the motor runs.

Washing machine won't complete cycle

If it is a hot and cold fill washer, yes, then it could be a hot water problem related to the valve, or the water supply., if it is cold fill only, then the problem is elsewhere.

Washer stopped after wash cycle

The lid switch is the culprit. Push down on the lid it should start. It needs to be adjusted . the tab on the lid is not activating the switch. Try triming the door bumpers.

Sounds like your stop valve has a leak.
You dont need a control unit, just the proportioning valve.
