Kennmore ultra fabric care heavy duty 80 series...the hose connections are a light blue plastic and seem to be leaking just above where the hose connects. there is a fine mist spray when the water is turned on, but i cant pinpoint the leak exactly. Is this part replaceable? fixable? and how do i remove the back to access it?

Welcome to FixYa.

If you look closely you will likely see a small crack in the valve itself and yes it can be replaced relatively easy.

If you can post back with the complete model ( should begin with a 110 followed by 5 or 6 digits )

I can even tell you which valve you need and how to change it.

Good luck, I`ll watch for your reply.

    Hello again,

Thank you for providing the model number. This allows me to more accurately help you by referring to the repair as it pertains to your specific kenmore washer

The inlet valve you'll need is part number 285805 and will look like this, though you won't require the metal plate included for your model...

You should be able to pick one up at most local brick and mortar appliance part stores for around $20, but for sure under $30USD.

As well if you prefer on-line at vendors such as "" "" or "" to name a few.

I've attached a link which should provide you with a clear instruction on how to remove the cabinet, the old valve and install the new inlet valve.

Let me know how you make out or if anything is not clear and I will try to assist you.

Thank you for choosing FixYa and please keep me posted on your success. If all goes well, awesome you just saved yourself in the neighborhood of $200...feels much better in your pocket.

    Good luck.

    Macmarkus :)

Leaking washer, increases when using cold, less when using hot. May be at drain?

Stop the washer and clean up the water. Confirm that the water is not leaking when the washer is off. The leak can occur before the electric valves either where the hose connects or from the electric solenoid valves just inside the washer. The situation is more likely true if the hoses are stressed by being bent to one side.

If dry then confirm if it is the hot or cold by running the machine with the cold service valve open and hot closed.

I have a kenmore ultra fabric care washer heavy duty 80 series with electronic temperature control and I can only get hot water not cold.

If it used to work and now does not, either the valve that controls the water inlet to the hot is bad or the temp sensor in the machine is bad. What is the whole model number?

I just bought a very used Kenmore ultra fabric care heavy duty 80 series model 110.82881100 serial number C90829489. We got new fill hoses and hooked them up. They're leaking from the washing machine....

You may have a leaky pump. The design is such that replacement is the only effective way to stop leaks. I slide a beer tray in from the front and let the pump drip away and evaporate, just like defrosting a refrigerator!

No. What is the problem you are having? Let me guess, it's not spinning or agitating?!

There is a moldy smell coming from my washing machine. I have run bleach, lysol, and vinegar throught the washer but nothing seems to alleviate the problem. My husband has also checked under the washing...

I had the same problem once and I had a leak behind the wall, I fixed the leak but still smelled it for a while. I had a small opening in the wall, so I sealed up the hole with that expanding spray filler and it went away
I think the smell is moisture mixed with lint setting on soaked

hope this helps
