Question about Norcent Technologies Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Norcent LM730. My speakers are not working. I moved and someone else hooked up the computer and I am not sure or know how to check if sound is hooked up correctly and that is the reason my speakers are not working. The speakers worked before the move

    Thank you for helping....but the back of the monitor has three slots, AC-IN (black plug attached), LINE-IN (No plug) and a D-SUN (blue plug). Am I missing a cord? Are my audio properties set correctly?

  • Ray Cooke Jan 27, 2014

    You have a missing cord with a mini jack on either end and one of them should be green. Connect the green to your green port on your sound csrd bit snf the other end into the 'line in' on your monitor. It'll be OK then. Good Luck !!

How can I get the Backlights for a Norcent Technologies LCD Monitor Lm730

Lamps: http://www.lcdparts.net

What is the problem with monitor?
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

I have computor with Norcent LM 965WA monitor. Really liked the fact it had built in speakers. Worked great, now when I plug in the wire from compuitor to monitor, static but no sound. Any suggestions...

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

With your indulgence, pls verify that it is indeed the built-in speakers of the Norcent that is the issue. Temporarily plug in to the computer a pair of headphones or even an old external computer speakers. If sound, then the monitor speakers are verified, if likewise static, then it is a computer issue.

Let's try the easy one's first:
  • check/replace the cable;
  • try other ports to plug it in at the computer;
  • determine if the sound device/driver for Norcent shows up in your Device Manager;
  • determine if on Sound Property in COntrol Panel, the Norcent is selected as the default device;
  • you may want to update the firmware and driver available here.

Would appreciate a postback for any updates on any development(s) (or even the lack of any). Pls include what Operating System you are running and if the Norcent is using USB connectors or standard cables. Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
