The only way to fix this is by opening and changing the laser which costs about $50. We do these repairs all the time or if you think you can do it yourself you can buy the laser and I can instruct you on how to replace it. Click here for additional help
If it has a rechargeable pack on it try swapping it out with a "AA" battery pack. sometimes the rechargeable batteries can go bad. If the controller still won't turn on then you have an internal problem and you will need a new controller. :) Or you can try getting your controller fixed, although there in not very many people that are willing to work on controllers
That is a peculiar device for doing that. It doesn't like some types of files and with video it's got to be VERY delicately encoded or it won't work. You need to have your PC up and running, when you load your xbox (at least with Vista and Windows 7) it should pop up by your clock a bubble saying "Media Extender available" click that and you should get some instructions.
Just look on the box that your Xbox came in and call the customer service number... someone will answer with a thick accent and ask what they can do for you... tell them your Console doesn't power on and that you've tried everything over and over, they will send you a box and repair your console free of charge and ship it back to you in about 3 weeks time working perfectly!
red light of death. Try turrning it off let it sits for a while then turn it back on if it still does that then the xbox is dead. unfortunatley this is a common problem with xbox 360 MS has extended the warranty on these and there's plenty of articles out there on these xbox.
call them and get them to fix it or replace the machine for you.
