The only things that can pop in a microwave are the glass plate, the lighting bulb or the capacitors from the source. Since the glass plate and the lighting bulb are intact then the only thing left are the capacitors. Because the unit is practically dead, the capacitor that most likely failed is one from the high tension module. You will need to remove the cover of the oven and look at the source - the failed one will be visible clearly. Write on a piece of paper the capacity and the voltage data and search for a replacement (in between keep the oven unplugged) . When you find it make sure the rest of the capacitors are discharged and replace them all for safety.

Hello,

What this indicate is that the time of the oven will need to be reset
What you are to do to fix up this problem is to follow this instruction bellow

Press the "Timer set" button and a timer indicator light will illuminate. If you allow five minutes to pass while setting the timer, the light will go off and you will have to press "Timer set" again.

Choose the "Hour" button to select the number of time you want to set; push the arrow up until you reach the number of time desired. Select the "Minute" button and move the arrow up to add minutes or down to subtract minutes. Press the "Start" button to begin the countdown to the amount of time selected.

Press the "Timer off" button to make the timer stop. When the time you set has been reached, the timer will let you know with an end-of-time tone. Most Whirlpool models will also give you a timer-finished tone every two minutes thereafter.

thank you and thanks for using fixya.

I need instructions for 10in. microwave browner

Only place I've found is here: CorningWare Browner Instructions

As these dishes were designed by Corning for a 650 watt over, you can recalculate preheat and cooking times for your oven with the following formula:

650/(your oven's wattage) x (listed preheat time or cook time)

For example, for a Corning MW-9 dish, they list 4 minutes maximum preheat time. I have a 1,580 watt oven. So 650/1580 = .41 x 4 minutes = 1.64 minutes and about a minute and a half preheat. (MAX).

I have never used the power feature and now I need to and cant find manual. How does the power feature work. I need to operate the microwave on medium power for one minute.

1 Use the number buttons to set a cooking
time. You can set a time from one second to
99 minutes, 99 seconds. To set a time over
one minute, enter the seconds too. For
example, to set 20 minutes, enter 2, 0, 0, 0 .
2 If you want to set the power level to
something other than High, press the Power
Level button, then use the number buttons
to enter a power level.
Power Levels:
Level Cooking PL
1Warm10
2Low20
3 Defrost 30
4Medium Low40
5Medium50
6 Simmer 60
7 Medium High 70
8 Reheat 80
9 Saute 90
10 High Hi

Hope that helps.

OPERATION(CONTINUED)
4. Press the START/+30SEC. button to start cooking;

My sharp microwave made a loud humming sound for a few seconds and quit working. The clock and light are also not working.Sharp model R-1461-A, serial 121279, May 1997

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker (or GFI) when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

Here are some links you or someone you know can use (in order given) for test help, but read the safety warnings first:
http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/cap_test.html
http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/diode.html (if it is NOT shorted, it's probably fine)
http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/xformer.html

You can usually find exploded views Sears parts site.

BUT Once you have the part numbers, the best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.

Sharp R-1450 Microwave Oven - No Power

(I don't see any other posts from you, so let's stick to this thread)

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

I wouldn't suspect the door switches at this time.

If you or someone you know wants to look into this, we have critical safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

We even have a video on our site that shows you how to safely & easily remove the control panel assembly in under five minutes.

You can probably find exploded views at the Sears parts site. The best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.

Please write back with more details if you need further help.
