Question about Brother Sewing Machines

1 Answer

My Brother LS-2125 keeps having the needles breaking. It was hitting the metal plate but then I tightened it, and it was hitting the bobbin and i took it apart and put it back together and was fine while turning the needle up and down with my hand but then with the fabric there it broke instantely. Could it be the timing? I don't even know what that is or how to fix it but then is the only solution i can find on the internet that i havent tried

Did you try a new needle? You may have a bent one.

My needle keeps breaking. So I unthreaded everything and cleaned the bobbin area. Per the manual i rethreaded everything but when i get to the part of turning the balance when toward me until the needle...

check to make sure the needle is inserted correctly--flat side to the back of the machine
that the needle is inserted all the way up in the needle shaft

check the needle clamp screw to make sure it's not loose

is the needle correct for the fabric that's being sewn

check to make sure the needle is not hitting the needle plate- if it's hitting the needle plate or the bobbin case then it's possible the machine is out of time & would have to be serviced because they have the proper tools to time it

I have had this machine since i was 10 and im 16 now. i dont remember how to start.. i have the needle loaded and the bobbin loaded, whats next?

Rotate the wheel until the bobbin thread is picked up. Once the bobbin thread is up, you can start sewing. Be sure to turn the machine on.
If the machine is making noise, unscrew the top and/or bottom plates and oil any place where metal rubs on metal.

My needle keeps hitting the plate and breaking. How do I fix this?

Take the needle plate off and see where it needle is connecting with the bobbin. The bobbin case may not be in place and this is what the needle is hitting.

NEEDLE KEEPS COMING UNTHREADED WILL NOT CATCH IN FABRIC

Make sure you are threading the machine correctly and it has the proper tension. Also check the bobbin the thread has to go thru the little lash

Needle getes broken

Check to see if your needle plate is gouged or signs that the needle is hitting the plate. If so, you may be pulling a little too hard when the fabric is feeding. Sometimes when you pull too hard, it pulls the needle back and it will hit the plate instead of going into the needle hole and you will break needles. Try just letting the fabric feed itself and you simply guide it to make sure it stays in a straight line.

The thread keeps breaking from the needle the bobbin thread is loose

Check to make sure the there is no damage to the needle plate. A gouged plate will rub the thread when it passes and break it. Make sure the tension number is between 3-5. To check your bobbin thread, once you put the bobbin in and have it threaded properly, pull on the thread, if it has a little resistance, it is probably good, if it pulls through too easily, adjust the screw, just a very minor bit until you feel some resistance. Then try again. Sometimes it takes a little back and forth to get it right, better to go in small amounts than large leaps.
