I don't think there's a problem with the driver, try checking the sound folder in "control panel" you might find the solution there.

Tips for a great answer:
Oct 28, 2013 | Dell Latitude 120L Notebook
2. Click "Device Manager"
3. From the list, you should see a
"Sound Controller" and if you click on the drop down arrow beside it,
you should see the audio driver installed(ex. High Definition Audio Device...
audio driver name may vary depending on the brand of the laptop).
4. Right click on the sample "High
Definition Audio Device" then select Properties. If it says device is
working properly then there shouldn't be any problem with your audio.
** If the Sound Controller is NOT installed
properly you need to download the Audio drivers from the support site of your
Dell computer,http://support.dell.com , be sure to select the correct model of your laptop and
operating system of your computer.
Once you have downloaded and
installed the drivers, Audio should work fine not unless it is the hardware
itself that is damaged.
**Also don't forget to check if there are
other external audio output devices connected to your computer, please do test
if working properly.
~~Hope this helps. Glad to be of service.~~
