TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.

If that doesn't do it, please reply to this post and we'll go on from there.

How to switch off my casio mj-100d calculator

I think this is a solar calculator. On many solar calculators, there isn't an off button. You just stop using it and after a set period of time (6 minutes for this calculator), it turns off by itself.

Good luck.

I press ON, then i press the number. My problem is the number not appear on the screen. i spoiled my sister's calculator. help me, please!

Are you sure the calculator turns on? Try using fresh batteries, or try removing and reinserting the batteries and see if you get the same result.
Do you see anything at all when you turn the calculator on? Try pressing '2nd', then 'QUIT' (MODE) a few times.
Did you do anything that you think might have broken the calculator?

My calculator suddenly won't turn on anymore and the batteries are fine. I think that someone messed up my calculator so that it won't turn on.

My ti-83 stopped working after i used rechargeable battteries. Now i realized I'm not suppose to use them. Now whenever i turn the calculator on, i can't turn it off. I will try to press letters or numbers...

I'm thinking the calculator itself froze (stalled), or the circuit board is taking a long time to process the your command (telling the calculator to turn off). Maybe you should wait a few hours or so and see if it's still on. Did you perhaps take the batteries out while the calculator was still on? You may have damage the circuits inside of the calculator by taking the batteries out while the calculator itself was still on. Maybe if you put some new batteries in the battery compartment and press the "ON" button, it might function properly. This is a suggestion and I hope this works.

My TI-83 drains batteries as well. used many different new batteries but it still didn't work. is my calculator permanently damaged or can it still be fixed?

About the only thing that I can can think of is that you may need to replace the internal battery. It is located in a little door with a screw right above the AAA batteries.

Another thought. The calculator may be staying on and not doing an auto shutoff. The calculator should turn itself off if you forget to turn it off. You can check to see if this is happening by leaving the calculator on, going back later and checking to see if it turned itself off.

Try changing the batteries, and if that don't work, I think that you should either get professional help or buy a new calculator

Too few arguments appeat when turn on the HP 48gx calculator

Hello,

This calculator uses RPN (reverse polish notation) not algebraic notation.
If say you want to calculate 12+13, you proceed as follows
12 [ENTER] 13 + : the claculator displays 25
Similarly
12 [ENTER] 13 x : displays 156

Also if you use a function like sinus or cosinus
12 [ENTER] cos displays the value (depending on the angle unit you are using).

I think you need to read a little more on the RPN before you get accustomed to this way of doing thing. The best reference is your calculator Getting started manual.

Hope it helps.

normally if you spill any type of liquid that would certainly affect your calculator from working- i would say that you need to have it replaced
