You will need to be in AV or manual mode to change your apperture.

AV is apperture priority and manual allows you full control of all settings on your camera.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

You may download the manual and more here.
The manual explains how to change the various settings. Your local library probably will have many books on introductory photography that will tell you why you might want to change the settings.

What are the correct settings for the appitures on a nikon n4004s my kids turned the both of them and when i try to use it it just flashes a red cross and circle. please help

Go to this site and find the manual or guides for your camera and download it . It may be in pdf format so you might need Acrobat reader to use it, however, Acrobat reader is a free download at www.acrobat.com/reader. Or it may be in a text format so that you can just save it to a folder and open it in word pad or whatever. Good Luck.

Nokon d40 Appiture

The aperture varies according to focal length... at 18mm the lens will go as wide as f3.5, but at 55mm the lens only widens to f5.6

Camera features canon 18-55 digital cmera EOS 350 D

It does different things depending on the camera settings and only works in the creative zone settings not the automatic settings.

In AV mode it changes the aperture
In Tv Mode it changes the shutter speed
In M mode it changes the shutter speed unless the AV button is pressed when it then changes the aperture

400D total blackness

Hi, sounds like a shutter problem, try taking a picture in manual mode with an exposure of around 1 second and the aperture stopped right down (small appiture)in daylight.
when you say its not pretty i guess you mean blurred?

If your still getting a black image, take the lens off and put it in bulb and press and hold the shutter release if the shutter dose'nt open and stay open while you hold it then its certainly the shutter.

Its not your fault, all the eos cameras are prone to shutter failure
some are fine for 50,000+ shots others die within a thousand
My fingers are crossed for you that its under warranty. If not a repair in the uk can be done for around 140ukp or $200 in the US, the shutter isn't expensive (about $60) but its several hours work to replace it

Best of luck

I am not positive if this is what you are looking for, but if you use the menu button on bottom right corner of back of camera you can change the settings for the picture resolution and the fineness of the stored images. If you set this and it still will not take the change, suggest removing the memory card and then turn camera on, use menu button and the go to reset and tell it yes. Then set all the settings the way you want and try it. Dont forget to set the time and date after resetting camera.

Are there any custom settings that *should* be changed initially

I have the C3000Z,so it should be the same. I don't have my camera or manual here at work with me today, but, there IS a setting that you enable in the menus that basically tell the camera NOT to reset all your settings back to defaul when you turn the camera off. Then, the settings you change will be "permanent" when you turn the camera off. I do the same thing with my camera.
