I would check the plug fuse and then try a different power cable but usually no power light means electronics failure and it's cheaper getting a new monitor unless you have a decent repair shop nearby.

Hello,

These units are known for having issues with the internal power supply board. There are parts called capacitors that fail due to heat buildup in the monitor case. When they die the power supply stops working and you get a dead monitor just like you have. If you can solder then you should be able to repair your unit. We have a free step by step repair guide posted on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/dell-e172fpc-e173fpc-repair/ The repair should take less than 20 minutes to do and cost less than $15 for parts.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Dell 8400 dead

Can you tell if your hard drive is running? You can here it or feel it spinning. Are the fans running? If no, I'm 99% sure you need to replace your power supply and/or motherboard. This kind of thing usually happens after a power surge.

The light came on because the charger brought voltage up to full, but when you hit the throttle, the voltage dropped since the charger cant power the motor. While checking the wiring (which I assume people automatically do), bypass the power switch with a screwdriver or a jumper wire. If it works, replace the switch. Check the battery with a multimeter...you should get > 25.2v full charge, no load. If you get 0v, check the fuse in the battery case. If all of the above check out ok, and it's totally dead, you probably need a controller.

Xbox not coming on what to do

hi, what do you mean by ti wont come on

is it totally dead or do you have any red lights lit up on the power button

check the power brick and when you switch it on at the main it should have an orange light on it then watch the orange light as you press the on button it should turn green to tell you it working or flash red if it has a fault let me know ok.

try unplugging all the leads out of the back of the xbox and switch the power lead off at the mains. then plug all the leads back into the xbox, no the power lead can be a bit funny at times so push it in then try forcing it in a bit further sometimes the connections get weak and you need to push it in further so try this pushing it in as hard as you can.

then switch it on at the mains then try pressing the on button if the on button still wont do anything try pressing the eject button as this will also switch it on and open the disk tray

if its totally dead or you have any red lights lighting up tell me how many then i can assist you further ok

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

please rate this solution and leave a testimonial as i have pages of unrated posts as users forget to leave a response, thanks

My front dashboard lights are out and not functioning at all

If the battery is older than 3 years or has been totally discharged more than 2 times it is probably time to get a new battery. Of course this has nothing to do with only your dash lights not working unless the battery was dead. Have you checked the instrument lights fuse? Are you sure the dash lights dimmer switch is not turned all the way to totally dim? Sometimes it is the same switch that you use to reset the odometer, and sometimes it is another knob you turn.
