Hard time find replacement hose

I seem to have lost the exhaust hose in a recent move. I called Maytag, but they do not carry the replacement hose. I tried several other parts dealers and no luck. Any idea where I could find a hose? Or, how to go about rigging a makeshift replacement that wont leak?
THanks for your suggestions!

Go to -- if you call them and give them your Maytag's part number they can direct you to the precise part. They carry a Sharp Item #1055132 for $25.00 that they say is the same as the part for the Maytag. It looks like the dryer vent kit should work too (both 4" diameter) and at $10 cheaper.

Dyson DC14 hose won't extend and floor unit lost suction

Sounds like the exhaust side is clogged. Remember a vacuum pulls air into the cavity, but for it to work properly it also has to be able to exhaust the same amount of air it takes in. If the exhaust is blocked it will continue to suck air inside and collapse on itself, which is why your hoses are getting shorter and harder to move. Check the exhaust system for any blockages, perhaps the hole you taped was the exhaust.

My dryer seems to be taking a very long time to dry my clothes lately.

Check the exhaust vent on the outside of the house. Many times it can get clogged up with lint and interfere with airflow. Had the same problem recently and that is what worked for me.

We have a Maytag Electric dryer that is not heating up totally. Removed the vent tube and seemed to help but I check the Ohm's on the thermometer and was working. Tsted the col for ohms and at the RX1...

Hi, If your resistance is 2-3 Ohms, then your element is on it's way out . It needs to be replaced. The resistance should be in the range of 7-20 Ohms on a 240 Volt dryer heating element with the multimeter set at RX1. Good work finding that.

There are some additional reasons a dryer will not dry, have no heat, or cause the element to burn out prematurely.

1 If the exhaust vent run distance is too long. i.e. more that 15 feet the heating element life will be shortened Why? Because in a long vent run the vapor from the most clothes condenses on the sides of the vent hose and lint sticks to it. This lint accumulates and reduces the internal diameter of the hose. This increases air friction and the element runs at a higher temperature, etc. etc.
Solution: Clean the vent system out, or replace with a shorter system, if possible. There is an accessory fan available that can be installed that allow you to have a very long exhaust vent run. See Link

2 Exhaust vent hose folded or squeezed almost or completely shut at back of dryer. This ocures when the machine is too close to the wall pinching the hose. No air carrying the moisture leave the dryer.
It can get hot and after the cycle is done. The clothes are still wet. Solution: Pull out dryer and unfold hose.

Don't use a dryer without a vent hose attached. The dryer will pull the hot air with lint in it back into the machine. Over a period of time this lint can accumulate in the machine and cause a "lint fire" Lint fires inside a dryer sometimes turn into house fires.

Hope this helps,
Happy New Year

I have a Magtag Neptune dryer that recently began taking a long time to dry the clothes. I noticed that the exhaust hose was not very secure at the dryer and there was a lot of excess lint could that cause...

a vent hose that is full of lint or clogged/restricted will cause the dry to take longer to dry or leave the clothes damp. if you clean/get the hose unrestricted this should rectify the problem. Hope this helped tim

My Maytag Atlantis washer stopped working after moving?

maybe the hose came off the water level switch,,,just remove the screws in each end of the control panel,,some machines you have to remove the panel end caps to get to the screws,,,,then pull slightly forward and flip the panel back to access the level switch,,,,,,my hose came off 1 time and flooded the kitchen lol,,,,but air pressure coming through the clear plastic hose kicks off the water coming in and allows the timer to move forward to next cycle!

The dryer puts off a chemical smell on the clothes-gas dryer

If it smells like gas on your clothes, your exhaust vent is probably being restricted, causing the exhaust to back up into the dryer cavity. Remove exhaust hose, make sure it is clear all the way to where it exits your home.( sometimes birds build nests in the outlet vent) Look into vent where hose attatches to dryer, and make sure it is clear also. If you smell gas when moving the dryer, there should be a shutoff valve near the wall, close it. DO NOT THE DRYER ! ! Call someone qualified to make the repair.

Hot Air

I am assuming it's turned on, and plugged into electricity, but at that point I have no idea what you are doing to try to cool the air, as in, what settings do you have it on?
Does the front indicator panel, led lights, have any signals indicated?
Are you exhausting air out of the room, and using both exhausts?
Are the exhaust lines straight? Pointed upward or downward? Sideways kinked?
Are there Hard S's in the exhaust lines that would cause backup of air flow?
Has a family of small penguins (very small) moved into the exhaust hoses, thereby blocking flow?
What is the actual temperature before use, and during use after a given amount of time and at what is the outside ambient temperature?
Did You lay it down or sideways before turning it on, or has it always been in the upright position?
Is the filter clean?
Have you cleared out the drainage hoses? They may be backed up.
Are your vents open?

Air in, air out.

try leveling or having the exhaust hoses point down and not up to exhaust.

check for a kink in the drain hose. if not remove the front of the machine, remove the the hose that connects to the bottom of the tub and the other end that connects to the pump. feel inside the tub for any obstructions and look into the pump for any obstructions.
