What is point that you stucked? Have you connect the router at the modem? Have you connect the pc to the router with wire? What is your Operating system?

Waiting clarification, don't hesitate to post.

I'm trying to setup a wireless connection and it requires a WEP or WPA key. Don't have a clue as to what I need to do. Bob

If this is a connection to a wireless router you set up, then the WEP or WAP key is what you put in originally. If this is a connection to an AT&T two wire that is in your home, the encryption key is on the bottom of the unit in brackets [ ]. If this is a neighbors wireless, then they will have the encryption key. You will have to see if they would like to share it with you.

If you have forgoten your wireless key, you can pull it off the router. The instructions to log in to each router is diffent, so I would need to know what brand of router you have.

I hope this was of some use. Comment back with any questions please.

Laptop can not connect to netgear wireless router

I would suggest using the network setup wizard, in the control panel. Best option is to copy the data to a pen drive and transfer to your daughters laptop.

First as a test, turn off the wireless security, and see if the laptop can connect.

If it can connect with security turned off, then it is likely that you are making some type of mistake with the password. (Such as caps lock being on, or having a keyboard error.)

Good Luck!

Motorola WR850G wireless router - what is a security key or pass phrase that I am being asked to provide? Verizon has no clue. Thank you. Russ

Check this manual and look at the installation part. It will tell you how to reach to your Wireless Security page. That is where you would find your key or pass phrase.

No internet access with new Linksys wireless PCI Adapter

Don .bin is a firmware that can upload to the linksys router or any router.

So it seems that your unable to connect wirelessly using the linksys adapter? The Internet connection before is working properly?

*I might advise you to reinstall the driver of your wireless adapter using the latest driver that you can download in there support site.

- Check the Internet connection hardwired to the router if connection works it seems that problem is on the adapter.

Need to get back to factory settings on linksys wireless router

Look at the back of the wireless router.  There is a reset button.  Take a ball point pen and push that little button that says reset and hold it (while the unit is on and plugged in).  Hold the button for about 15-20 sec.  Then let go of the button and you should be able to log back in.  Your IP address to access your router should be:   192.168.1.1     Your default password and username will be (Username: admin    Password: admin)
Any questions, just ask!!!

I have purchased a Belkin Wireless G Router for a cable modem. I have installed however i am unable to see the wireless network. What have i done wrong ??

Hello experts....

My problem is not being able to work wirelessly with my laptop. My answers to your questions are underlined(I've used your questions to someone elses problem)

One possible issue is your router's wireless radio is not enabled- the light on the router is lite on the symbol for wireless

or the wireless radio is not enabled on the computer you are attempting to connect to the router with - there is a switch on the front of this machine which is switched to wireless.

There are many other possibilities as well. That is why we need you to carefully answer EACH ONE of the following questions.

(01) Which of the following is your router?
-->> F5D7230-4 (Wireless G Router)

(03) Are ANY of the computers connected to your Belkin router able to access the Internet?
YES

(04) If there are other computers connected to the router that are able to access the Internet, how are they connected? (in each case, please)
only this machine is connected but it is by....
(b) wired (using an Ethernet patch cable connected between the router and the computer)

(05) What is the manufacturer and model number of the computer you are attempting to access the Internet via the router on?

HP Pavilion dv2500

(06) What operating system is installed on the computer you are attempting to access the Internet via the router on?

This machine is operating on Vista but the internet access I have is with talktalk

(07) Have you ever successfully connected (wirelessly) to the Internet from the computer you are attempting to wirelessly access the Internet through your Belkin router on?
NO

I hope you don't mind me using your questions to someone else, I thought you might be able to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I am connected to the internet but don't seem to be able to work wirelessly. Lorraine
