Question about Thermador C301U Electric Single Oven
Switch the oven on and everything's fine, ie oven circulating fan comes on and the oven starts heating. However, when the oven gets hot it starts making a grating noise and the oven circulating fan stops. We thought the problem was the internal oven fan but when we took the back off the oven it is clear that it was something to do with the cooling fan on top. If we were to replace this item (is this simple to do?) would this solve the problem, or is the problem likely to be something else which is causing this result?
Hope you can help?

SOURCE: Heating elements do not heat
this problem your having is some connected with your oven shut down thermostat.if that does not solve your prob.next solution would be to check that control board.

If this oven works the same as the 302T, the bake element is not used during convection mode, only the convection element.
The cooling fan must come on
The air switch must close
The convection element must be good
I would suspect the element first.
Post back and let me know what you find out.

usually this is because you have the connecter on the touch pad off by a pin or not seated well. sometimes all it takes is taking the front touch panel off, re seating the connectors, and putting it back together. these thermadores are very sensitive to it for some reason. if all else fails, take all of the small multi pin wire connectors off one by one and re seat them. it should take care of the problem if it wasnt there before you started. good luck!

OK...you need to replace the lock, but first you need to get the darn think open. I looked at it, couldn't figure out how, and left it. My 14 yr old starting looking at it (after the kids had their TV, Ipod, etc taken away from him for the weekend.....) and he took a coat hanger from the side to pull the latch open.
The rest is straightforward sheet metal disassembly except for the front panel...label the connectors with a piece of tape before you pull the cables connecting the front panel (unless you are able to read a schematic). You can buy the part from AppliancePartsPros.com
